Hello all, i have a question for the American members.....my wife has her interview for AOS august 29th. she has recieved her employment authorization card dated 5/15/06.....we immediately went to the social security office to receive her SSN....they checked her passport, employment card, and checked the computer......uscis had not entered the info in the social security computers....so No SSN was issued....we were then told that it usually takes two weeks for the info to show up on their computers..........

okay...it is now two weeks later, we go to the Social Security office again....same answer......frustration is setting in now for us both....

without SSN, i cannot add my wife to my bank accounts, or add her to utility bills, etc...these are requested item for the interview....

i know it is not wise to change the interview, it will truely be impossible to have her name added (except for bank accounts) if she receives her number even in the next few days which is not likely.....

my question is....because it is a USCIS delay in posting their information to other agencies, will that be something that causes a problem at the interview.....i appreciate any and all feedback........thanks !!

forgive me...correction..my wife's AOS interview is June 29th.....15 days from today...sorry for my dumb attack in posting !!!!!!!

You are allowed to go to a bank and open an account without a SSN #, you just have to tell them to open the account as a NRA Non Resident Alien.

You can also complete a ssn application and select the block, unable to work, they will issue her ss card there.....

My friend just got a ss card for his brand new bride.
