My bicentenary post

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This is my 200th post to RMP. In honor of my bicentenary post, I would like to thank Khashyar and Lena for hosting this gathering place. They have attracted many insightful and wonderful people to their Internet home, who have filled it with kindness and good conversation.

So I will lay out a 'virtual spread' of vodka and caviar, kabasa and cheese, fresh bread and homegrown pickles, along with an assortment of salads. To all that come here, enjoy!

My thanks again for making this place possible,
Fred

Hey Conner,
If we'll have a picnic here, you have to leave something for the rest of us to bring! So, consider the Ice Cream for dessert "covered"

Ohh, and congrats on the "double century" post

Oh, I left plenty for others to bring.

At our friend's wedding, I had a chance to have Russian Cloud again. Last time I had it was at Papa's 60th birthday celebration. I don't know if this celebration is important enough...

Mama makes an awesome stuffed grape leaf. And both her and Natalya bake this wonderful sweet pastry, that's loaded with finely ground walnuts. Don't tell Mama, but Natalya's always tastes better.

I could go on, but it just makes me hungry (and lonesome ).

Congrats! Your posts make for great reading here. Thank You!

My contribution to this virtual picnic is candy for the kids. There is a Russian candy that comes in a yellow wrapper and has a cow on the cover. I don't remember what it's called, but Russians call them "Little Cows". It tastes like a cross between chocolate and cat box litter. I wasn't impressed, BUT RUSSIAN KIDS LOVE IT.

So here ya go kids!

Fred-

Thanks for your 200 plus posts and your thoughts, feedback and thougtful opinions in them...

And Congratulations

Perhaps we should create a new "post rank name" for someone who has contributed more than 200 or 300 posts?? When a person reaches 100 posts, they are designated as a "Senior Member." Perhaps after 200 or 300 or 500 posts, we should offer another title like..... "Forum Tsar" or "Tolstoyesque"

Thanks again for participating and contributing to the forum (And thanks to Steve and Jim also for being great forum members and contributors)....

Thanks for the kudos!

I still think Supreme Galatic Ruler has a nice ring to it!

You have a number of great posters here. I just type fast, and have too much time on my hands at the moment. Hope the waiting won't be much longer.

Castlestormer -- Thanks for the sugar buzz. When I'm in Russia, I always have some Bite Sized chocolates in my pocket. I "sneak" them to Pasha, and his 7 y.o. cousin. They make a great bribe for 10 minutes of peace and quiet. Natalya knows I do this, but he thinks it's a secret, so he trys to be quiet not to draw attention to himself. Of couse, nothing draws more attention than a quiet 5 year old!
