I did not go to the movies when in Ukraine, but I did notice something unusual in the advertising/marketing. In Odessa, the translation of the "DaVinci Code" movie was in Russian, whereas in Dnepropetrovsk, was in Ukrainian.

It would be expected in nationalistic Lviv that the language would be Ukrainian, but a bit of a surprise in the more Russified Dnepropetrovsk. So, it appears that the Ukrainian language is being used more in DNK than most people initially would think.

I had a chance to see The DaVinci Code when I was in Ekaterinburg a couple weeks ago. Fortunately, I had seen the film here before I went so I knew what was going on. My Sveta was impressed that I was able to follow along the film as much as I did. I was really impressed with the dubbing they had done in Russian.
