I have been writing to a woman in the Ukraine for a couple of months, and we have talked on the phone a few times. Realizing the calls , and letters, would continue, I decided it was time to take some advice and look into calling cards. The day I decided to get serious, I checked ebay, and then here, the meeting place. Lo and behold, a new thread had started on calling cards. I read the info, marked a page for Nobel, and put it aside for a couple of days. Yesterday, in our letters, we set another call time, 13 o clock for her, which is 4 oclock for me. At 8 pm (20 oclock) last night I decided I better get busy an see if I could find a card for this morning. Signed up with Nobel Diamond plan, reading the threads here had convinced me that was the way to go. So, having had some experience at calling usually taking 30 to 45 minutes to connect, at 3:50 I set down at the phone, coffee, tobacco, at the ready. I use the speaker phone, no use getting in a hurry, if it rings I'll change to the handheld. Call Nobel, follow instructions, and then, 2 rings "Hello" Absolute, perfect, clarity. "UH Hello" "oh,Hello Lafe" It's 10 to 4 in the morning, no coffee, no nicotine, and she is speaking clear as a bell! No hassle, no excuses. I understand, and I don't understand were NOT because of a connection. I leave for work at 4;30 (I was late) the cost....$4.50, the old way, 80 bucks. Serious. Get a card, the way to go. Now I can find out how to pronounce the stuff in the Phrase book. For all those who touted calling cards...Thank You, Thank You, Thank You..........
