• I noticed a number of convenience stores, with large signs indicating they’re open from 8-22 (8 AM to 10 PM). I guess they are just not as ambitious as 7-Eleven.
• By many of the police booths that line the side of the roads, there are a number of cars that haven’t survived the many accidents you come across. By one booth, I counted 17 cars. Some look in worse shape than my 5 year old’s toys. And he’s pretty rough on toys.
• Commenting on the last observation, two things you rarely see in Russia: Pick up trucks, and automobile wreckers. I’ve only seen one of the former, and none of the later.
• And seen only about 5km from SVO: a middle age couple, driving an old but very well maintained red Lada. Not that extraordinary, except for the billy goat on the back seat, with it’s head poking out the driver’s window. I guarantee no one has seen this near JFK or LAX!
