Can someone tell me how to go about obtaining medical insurance for the Ukraine? My airline tickets and apartment have been finalized and my visa will be ready in 8 days. All I need now is the medical insurance. Should I have a policy with extensive evacuation coverage? I'm thinking a medical evacuation can cost at least $10,000. Thanks for the help. I'm only 5 1/2 weeks away from my trip to Kiev.

Just do a GOOGLE search on travel Insurance and you will find a ton of them listed. It is not that expensive to get $100,000 coverage, including life flight if needed.

Thanks I am going with Travel Guard International. They just had an upgrade. They have medical coverage for the Ukraine and offer $50,000.00 for emergency medical transportation. The cost is $74.00. The reason I started the thread is because Ukraine is very specific about someone having medical insurance specifically covering the Ukraine. I wasn't sure if there was a specific policy that only covers a particular country.

You must have seen old info. They do not even ask about insurance so don't sweat it. it is important to have for your own peace of mind. My brother had a heart attack in the outback of Australia and actually had to have the "flying doctor" airlift him to big city hospital so it can happen. Good luck.....enjoy.

I got some travel insurance from my American Express card which I got from COSTCO.

The coverage is $100,000 for $100 a year.
