Thanks for telling your story.I think most of us backed into finding a Russian woman.The thought of finding a Russian woman never entered my head,when I was looking for a woman after my divorce.I had put a profile on an American dating site and a Russian woman had responded.I did not know if I should write her back or not.I decided to go ahead and write her.We wrote for a while and found out she only wanted money.The experience got my interest. I looked on a site,that listed blacklisted scammers.The site also listed several
legitimate Russian dating sites.I looked at the sites and there were some very beautiful women on them.The profiles of these women were very sincere.
I knew that I had to go for it.I had never saw this quality of the women on the American sites.I joined Elenas Models and found Rima.She is the most beautiful and sincere woman I ever met in my life.I want to thank the scammer for getting me interested in Russian women.I would not be engaged to Rima,if it were not for the scammer.

I would but every letter I have ever sent, including international air express, has taken over 2 months to get there..

Hmm.. two month old festy rose petal leaves might have exactly the OPPOSITE effect for me!

Great story, Searcher. I am a new member to this site and I am finding this forum very captivating. Like Dagpop, I was looking for a bride using the local internet dating sites and got an invite from a very beautiful young lady who said she was Russian and was very interested in me. We exchanged letters everyday for exactly a week before she asked me to send her money so that she can come and see me. I am a very trusting person, but not that trusting and just asked the lady how much she knew about me. Like a true scammer, she never answered any of my questions. She had sent me five stunning photos and I couldn't believe she was up to no good and so I started searching the internet to see if she was a known scammer. I found nothing about her, although she has since tried to scam some other guy who has published her details on the scammer list. However, the search got me to these Russian brides sites. To cut a long story short, I will be travelling to Ukraine (I know it is not Russia) to meet my Lana who I have been communicating with for the past three months. I am not counting my chickens but I wanted to go for a holiday somewhere anyway and so why not the Black Sea. We have spoken on the phone and I have read and reread her letters and I am full of hope. Thank you Margarita Vasilyeva (the scammer).

Thank you very much, guys. It is good to hear other people's experiences before you dive into the unknown and it gives me confidence to learn that it can be done. I suppose the question 'Why an FSU woman' still remains for me, but with due respect, the age thing is very important for our Western women. I am 44 and 2 of the women I found on the local sites lied about their age. They were respectable ladies and owned up in the end, explaining that as men like younger women, it was difficult for them to get a response from men in their age ranges. I.e they reasoned that if they were 47 and wanted a 47 year old man, they would have to put their age at between 38 and 43. Hey, please, before you take the daggers out, I am only expressing an opinion and I don't think it is a common occurrence.

Hi GOeast.....unfortunately, many lie on the internet sites...but, eventually they must face the truth......IMO, it is better to present yourself truthfully....you never can begin a strong relationship based on lies. Good Luck on your adventure....and it truely is an adventure.....myself and others have found wonderful wives in the FSU, and i wish you all of the best !!

Hey, thanks very much for the encouragement, Skins! I think I do need it. A leap into the dark, more like. Just reading the ladies' names and it looks likes creativity is not encouraged in these areas. What's in a name anyway!!! Well, I am saying this because I think Olga and Svetlana may top the list and so we must say 'my Olga' or 'my Svetlana'! I am flying to Odessa and then catching an overnight train to Simferopol from where we hope to catch a taxi to Yalta where we will be staying. My lady friend is meeting me at Odessa airport. I can't wait.

I just wanted to inform you that you are about to go to a land where the most beautiful and family oriented woman in the world are ok. I am so happy for you man,even if things do not work out.I would think you will have better time with lana than you can imagine.make sure you prep yourself and look into your K-1 visa requirements before you leave as this will save you time and money.Make sure you get a current passport color photo of your woman so you can FIle your I-29F form immediatley when you return.My friends will never know what I saw over in Ukraine. I understand why the call Odecca the Pearl by the sea.Don't forget to clap when your plane lands in Ukraine. Don't expect a fancy airport either.I would recommend a nice dinner at Fat Moses bar and grill and a .90 cent Big Stella beer.Smart move on your vacation brother,you will walk from this trip with a true understanding of just how beautiful a woman can be.

Wow, thanks S&S! Excellent advice and encouragement. I was impressed with the first letter from this lady, but each letter I have received just keeps reinforcing my belief in her. Her main focus is family values. I have tried but she has resisted all mention of monetary discussions and she keeps telling me that money makes our lives easier but it is necessary to first build the relationship and then worry about your finances (well, I knew that, really!). I am really looking forward to meeting her!
I will certainly look up those eateries. You may have noticed that I am British and I imagine I have got a different K-1 equivalent and I am not counting my chickens although I am very optimistic about this relationship. I intend to go back in August if things go well and that is when I will make sure I have all the paperwork in place.
