Board of directors of Russia's flagship air carrier Aeroflot made a decision to buy 22 A-350 aircraft between now and 2014. This information was reported by Russia's business daily Vedomosti, which quoted a Kremlin source. Aeroflot was choosing between Airbus and Boeing's B-787 (Dreamliner) aircraft.

A Russian government of intelligence would make sure that some Russian components were designed into their variant of the Airbus. Have they done this?

I seriously doubt it but Boeing was considering opening a facility in Russia. I don't know if that will happen now.

It could have provided many jobs as they would support the Boeing aircraft used by Russian airlines AND Boeing airplanes sold in all of Europe.

Sometimes I think they (some of those in the Russian government) like shooting themselves in the foot.....
