Europe Sets Rules for Gazprom Entrance to Retail Gas Market

Andris Piebalgs, the European Union's energy commissioner, said on Tuesday, May 2, that the EU would apply the same competition rules to Russia's natural gas monopoly Gazprom as it enters the European retail energy market, but would take into account the group's monopoly over Russian exports to the 25-country union.
