Visa worry

Hi guys i have another question.Ekaterinburg embassy is closed to personal callers.Does this mean that applying for a spousal visa for liuda will be more difficult.?Are chances of refusal higher when going through a courier?

I think the refusal rates will be the same as before, it will just take alot longer, before it could be done in a day now it is takes over a week. It will also be more expensive as you have to pay the agency fees which are about 3000R.

Hi ,i just looked again and its being done in an outsource centre in Novosibirsk. It worries me somewhat because having just been there and the problems we had with people in authority.Guess we will just have to keep our fingers crossed.

To be honest I can't see how the 'couriers' for which I read 'travel agents' can process a fiancee or spouse visa, more geared up for tourist visas.

Or are the couriers acting purely as glorified secretaries in this regard?

The accredited travel agents just basically check the application to ensure the form is filled in correctly and the required documents are there, then send it by courier to Moscow. It is still the embassy who decide and issue the visa. They are expensive "glorified secretaries".

I just spoke with a so called visa expert who i was put on too by channel 4 guys and he said i should go and marry in Russia as its easier than prague. Also he said for liuda not to use Novosibirsk office but to go to ekaterinberg which is not a problem. As Wedding is booked and paid for im not changing venues now.Just have to hope for the best.

yes thats all sorted. My main worry is getting uk visa.We have to get all documents in prague translated and apostled and then i give all my info to liuda to take for visa.I guess she will now go to centre near ekaterinburg because as the visa guy said Novosibirsk is almost in a time warp from 30 yearts ago. They dont like people leavine or new people staying which we gathered on our recent stay.
