I have used FedEx to mail papers to Rima in Tashkent.I paid $68.00 to mail them and it got to her in 4 days.I have never used DHL.Are they any cheaper or faster.I will have to use one of these services to mail plane tickets to Rima, for her departure.Which is the better of the two.

USPS, the regular old post office is the best.

Please, dont use FedEx.
This company doesnt work in Russia.
FedEx has partner in Russia - EMEX.
EMEX has a lot of problems!!!
I had extremely bad experience with FedEx in Russia like all my female friends.

DHL is OK in Russia!

Ms. Smarty Pants thanks for the advice.Mailing the plane ticket will be the most important thing I mail to her.I sure don't need no screw ups.I never had used DHL before and did not know much about their service.

i used DHL. They were expensive but i just wanted it done so i went with them, about 80 dollars to Kirgizstan. The shipping is the least of your worrys when you tally all the cost in this whole process.Plus its tax deductible, just kidding

Most companies use DHL.
Fedex / DHL great tracking
USPS sends to FEDEX then to Russian Post. About half the price for a package.

My experience is limited to Novosibirsk and Moscow.

Fedex doesn't go to Novosibirsk. Period.

USPS has an extensive presence there, but I have not used them. My colleagues there have used USPS to send me documents. And they also use DHL.

For work, we use DHL exclusively. It is expensive, and offers very good tracking services. I've used DHL once personally. For an important shipment -- like an airplane ticket or documents for her K1 interview -- I would use DHL again.

I've used USPS (Express Mail) many times for small parcels. It costs about 20% of DHL and my parcels have always arrived.

Our Embassy basically only accepts DHL and TNT. And in her city its only DHL.. so guess what we use

DHL is what I use to Russia... DHL is a little more expensive, but it is quicker, it is a German based company (they clear thier own customs), and it is more widely known in Russia~!~

DHL is German owned and has worked its way into the business world in FSU. In order to do business in FSU you have to work with the "system" !!!! and DHL had done this. Fedex does everything above board and as a result it does not work very well. Customs will hold up packages and cause delays and so your 4 day delivery becomes 7 days. Use DHL. I have this from a Fedex contact.
