Thanks Jutman ,
The first link will be good reading for me , the third link was interesting reading . When I was in russia visiting my fiancee one day I happened to be whistling in the house , she came in the room with the most horror stricken look on her face , needless to say whistling was out .
These are just some of the little obstacles that face us all , it is how we deal with them , that makes the difference .

that article was great!! it explained so many things for me. i'm an american woman and i recently married a russian man. we have had arguments over him being late, making promises he didn't keep, not planning things in advance, etc...it is nice to know that these are not necessarily character flaws on his part, but common behavior in russia. he is learning from all our arguments, and it seems like he is making progress with being on time. he still likes to make a lot of grand promises that i doubt will come true, but at least i know better now!

Thank you for posting the links, Brian...

Perhaps we could start a new thread in the Russian culture section about the differences between Western and Russian culture??

I believe that we have a couple of threads regarding that topic, but if anyone has any new thoughts that they want to contribute, then please feel free

Thank you, Jutman, for the great list of links!
Yes, it would be cool to make a list of good links about Russian culture, both in Russian and in English, for those who don?t know Russian yet.
