Inbox email delay

This be my first post. (Applause)

So I am communicating via email to Omsk, Russia from Pennsylvania, USA. She received my emails and I received hers. I have a free yahoo account and she is in Omsk using a yandex.ru account.

My problem is that the last email I received was dated 3 days earlier than when I received it in my inbox. It has been 5 days since that time and 8 from the date postmarked on the email. I have read a bit about others having problems with email delays and servers being jammed up with spam and other useful nonsense and am wondering if this is the case. This is a bit annoying and hence, we've now got some sort of communication breakdown.

I receive no error messages when sending emails and have registered a hotmail account and an atlantic broadband account with the same results. I called the local atlantic broadband dudes (my ISP using cable modem) and they told me there was nothing wrong with their server and it was doing just fine.

I do not know if she is receiving email from me because I am not receiving any from her. Should I just be patient or are there things I can try doing to figure out what the problem is; or am I an Idiot

I am open to suggestions.

Sometimes email gets delayed. It could have been a problem for the sending mail server or the recipient mail server.

I learned this from a network engineer, ran tests on my servers which worked fine, and have concluded that yandex is the culprit.

You haven't said how long you have been writing. Did you have problems with any previous mail?

My F also uses yandex.ru and is in Omsk. In six months, I do not think we have experienced any noticable delays. She always copies her messages to my email at work, so I get her messages twice. On AOL at work (hate that system) and and Outlook Express when I get home.

I dont write so often now, as I'm using the free voip phone system and I 'm on the phone for 2-3 hours every afternoon after work (and often for another half hour at 1am)

Has she got a phone?

Hello, Timsd76!

No problem here.

- You may open your personal e-mail box at yandex.ru. Then you may send short note from one to second e-mail boxes. You will know how all is going on this way.

- You may ask your woman to open the second e-mail box at Yahoo, Mail, others.

- "... or am I an Idiot" LOL I dont think so. You have some concerns and some questions.

Good luck!

May be her e-mails box have not room for your e-mails. She needs to increase the size of her e-mail box or delete old e-mails and pictures.

Good point Ms S P ...........I had that problem with a lady once, her mail box was always full, once she had cleared it out all went well again.

I have received a reply and although it was at least 3 hours delayed, it still went through.
