No, I flew in July out of LAX and I had a bottle of blue listerine in my luggage. No problems.

Yep I didnt have any problem either. My wife bought me some perfume last Jan., and when I was coming from Russia to the USA there was no problem. The NSA officer that was checking carry-on bags through the x-ray machine. Pulled out the perfume, and checked it was real perfume and let me go.

I brought perfume with me to Uzbekistan (and cologne for myself)... no problems whatsoever.

Now, if you're connecting through Moscow (Sheremetyevo), then I would suggest that you buy your perfume there. The duty free prices are pretty good and it'll save you the hassle of buying perfume locally and having to pack it or otherwise lug it through around.

small box of chocolates wouldn't hurt. those small godiva ones are pretty cool. get for chocolates to a box.
