Rossija Hotel - Moscow

Hi Guys

For those of you travelling to Moscow , I can recommend the Rossija Hotel .

We stayed there for 4 nights. The hotel is situated right in the heart of Moscow , opposite Red Square and the Kremlin, in my opinion you cannot get a beter location.

We where able to walk to a lot of the tourist sites we wanted to see from here , there are plenty of restuarants in the vicinity , although they are a bit pricey!

The room we booked into was a renovated room, there are un renovated rooms , so make sure you check. The standards where good , the room was decorated niceley and had all the facilities you would expect.

We did not have time to try the facilties in the hotel, so cannot comment on them. On the bonus side , there is a ATM machine in the lobby. The receptionists on each flor where helpful , unlike the receptionists on the front desk. Maybe this is my only grumble , butwhen we arrived they where just about to change shift, so we had to wait , alright it was only 10-15 mins , but this is somethin i am not used to when trying to check into hotels in the past!

When we return to Moscow at Christmas time , I will have no hesitation in booking back into this hotel. I do not think you can beat it for the location

I booked it online through a company called Hotelclub www.hotelclub.net and got very good service from them.

Hope this helps

Regards

John

Thanks for the recommendation, John...

It is good to receive a referal through someone's first-hand experience...

Do you know approximately how much they charge for their rooms??

Thanks

Khashyar

P.S... fortunately, Lena's great aunt and uncle live in Moscow, so we wouldn't need a Moscow hotel for ourselves, but... when we are married in Belarus sometime next year, we might need a place for some of our guests.

Hi Khashyar,

I used a travel website called www.hotelclub.net , they offer a small discount to memebers if you join , about 5-10%. So a double room works out at about $70 a night for me. I think it is a reasonable price considering the location.

One good thing to know about this huge hotel is the fact that there are four lobbies.

I remember waiting for my GF to arrive at the West Wing lobby and I thought she would never come. It turned-out that she checked-in through the North Wing lobby.

Thanks for the information, jc...

I want to post/create a page of Moscow Hotels with a good general listings of hotels in Moscow....

Yes, Emet.... this shows that there is an advantage to staying at your fiance's/ girlfriend's house during your trip to Russia (or renting an apartment)...

Yes , the 4 different entrances and lobbies got us on the first day , its quite a walk around your floor looking for your room if you cannot remember which lobby to use!

Fortunatley we met at the airport and did not have the same problem as you emetsky , must of been nerve wracking waiting for her!

Regards

John
