Solstice, My experience started last year when I wrote to a Woman fron Mariupol, Ukraine. She said everything I wanted and liked all pictures I had mailed to her. I decided to travel to Ukraine to be with her. Her words were of being a Wife! She wanted only me. I made this meeting happen. Her name was Elena, She could only speak to me through the Agency called, "Mariupol Mariage Agency". She stated that she wanted only to be with me in a vacation atmosphere like the City Kiev. Her Interpreter wrote. Her Interpretor suggested the apartment of the Sherbourne. A very expensive but nice place. I then needed to pay for her travel, her interpretor travel, and two rooms at a very expensive apartment. I said I would but that I would fly the interpretor back to Mariupol after 3 days and the last two days we would be alone. I had the most expensive electronic interpretor and also learned basic Russian. We had a great time but I could not shake the feeling that I was being used for a great vacation for the interpretor and yes even her. We did have a great night of sex in Kiev! When we flew back to Mariupol. My girl said she wanted to go home? I did see her then next day as her Mother and all of her family prepared a great dinner and asked me many questions. My girl stayed with me the last two night but because of her period, we were non sexual. The last night she was very touchning to me and yes to my? You know! Still. I treated her like a queen! In Kiev I let her shop and bought what she wanted, She was very good at not buying everything in site but I could tell I was her "Credit Card Man". The early morning that I left the apartment, she had spent the night with me. No Sex as she was at her period. I had already asked her to marry me but she could not say yes. She said thast she liked me very much. That cold morning, on Jan 29, 2006. I had left her with all my Ukrainian change, $150.00 No Big deal. My Elena and me took a Taxi to bring me to the Mariupol airport. My Elena decided that she should just get dropped off at her apartment and let the taxi take me to the airport. I would think this to be fine but Elena Mozhevetina never kissed me goodbye! She just stpepped out of the taxi and went inside! I knew I was a sucker and a fool.
I am very succeful! I run the City of St. Paul, MN Computer backbone! I am the Sytems Administrator and I am a healthy good looking guy!
Once I was home, I wrote her, Elenas interpretor was kind with words. I changed from Anastasiaweb.com to MariupolMariage Agency. com to communicate. After a curious looking of the Mariupol site, I found our MARIED Interpretor, Lyuidmila advertised as available. ALL MY TALK WITH ELENA WAS THROUGH HER!!! I wrote and complained to the woman "RAISA" but I was assured that no wrong was done. My married Interpretor was still being advertised as I was asked to spend another $200.00 to communicate with Elena. Elena kept writting that she wanted to be with me but wanted more time!!!! HOW MUCH MORE MONEY CAN A MAN SPEND!!!!
I looked at the big picture, Elena might have loved me but I could not trust our interpretor Nor her! After one of my emails after my trip, I asked Elena again. Why do you not want to marry me??? She, or the crooked interpretor could not answer. I do beleive that Elena wanted me! I do believe that this crooked Interpretor was in it for the money.
I then paid $150.00 for ELENASMODELS.COM The best thing I have ever done in MY LIFE!!! The site promotes honest women and tells them to write in English as best they can!! I FOUND LOVE!!! Her name is Maria, She lives in Ekaterinburg. The BIG difference is this:
Maria has a personal email address we write to each day and have for two moths!!
Maria has a phone number that I can call and I call her Every Friday and Saturday morning at 8:00 AM her time! I speak slowly and clearly so Maria can understand me. Maria laughs, giggles, and coo's like a morning dove when I call her. I will be with her May 19. 2006 till June 1, 2006. She lives with her Mother and I have already planned a special dinner that we all will attend. My me Emails every day telling me that she feels we have already met and that she is in love with me!

OK, Solstice! You asked, I have told you of my experience. My biggest advice is that you know where you are finding this woman. Is the web site that you met her clear of wonder and only interested in your meeting and not looking for a payment for interpretaions!!! Look out for the interpretor!!! I would gladly sell you my top of the line electronic Russian/English translater! It even has voice and helped me much! I do not need it with Maria as she was Univercity trained in English. Maria has found and booked me an apartment that is only advertized to Rusians! My Maria sends

Please be carfull! It cost me over $5,000.00 for Kiev Date!!!

The most important advice is not to become so emotionally involved with a penfriend, the only real way to know someone is to met them, until then you are just long distance friends. It is not normal for an FSU woman to fall in love with someone they have never actually met. Although she may turn out to be a genuine woman you seem to be blindly sleep walking into another potential disaster. Your first visit should always be on the basis of friendship, an opportunity to get to know someone better and try not to get carried away with the romance/excitement.

Money can be replaced but emotional damage is harder to repair. The thing to remember is that all Russians see Americans /Westerners as rich / well off.
The fantasy lies in the idea that marrying a foreign man will transport a women to a better life. In some cases this is true . But I would concentrate on finding someone whom you can develop friendship with slowly- the romance will develop if there is a foundation of trust , honesty and mutual understanding. The mutual understanding is the most important because western culture is not the same as russian culture. Forget the idea of trying to impress the lady - if you will be yourself you will know from her reaction whether there is a postive response.
I agree with the interpreter scam- I met a women who came with an interpreter . I found out that the lady who had brought the interpreter spoke very good english. The money I gave for intrepretation was split 50/50 . We westerners never think of these scams.
