Hey guys and gals!
Any ideas on what to take for gifts for my RW's family for a first
meeting? I leave for Ekaterinburg on May 20th and want to start
planning what may be appropriate for her Mother and Father.
She also has a sister that is married, should I bring a gift for
sis as well?!?
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Russian Meeting Place Forums.

I think that Russians appreciate gifts in general more than Americans do.

So, I think that a gift for the parents, siblings, and grandparents would be very appreciated.

Perfume for the sister, maybe some American Alcohol for the dad, and perfume for the mom I'm sure would be appreciated.

You could also buy some miscellaneous make-up for the women, and also perhaps something that is from your particular part of the country.

I grew up in Oxford, Ohio (where Miami University of Ohio is), and I've been through Columbus many times. Perhaps you can go up to Amish country and buy some high quality Amish hand-made things that reflect American culture.

Think about what they would enjoy, and buy them some things from the U.S. that either they would have a hard time finding, or that they could not otherwise afford.

On my last trip I took a couple of leatherman tools for the men that went over big time. So to the best of my knowledge there are a total of 2 in Ukraine now.
