Hi

I have sometimes read tha people get married in Russia and it happen quickly. But what about the paperwork? Does they accept a simple translation OR is enough that your papers are in english?
what about to prove the documents are for reel?

Hi Jutman
You can have your lady go to ZAGS and ask what documents are need to get married in Russia. I dont know if the Danish Embassy in Russia can provide you with some of the documents you need to get married. But anyways have your lady check with ZAGS and you can check your Embassy and see what documents you need.
Any foreign documents needs to have an official stamp ( most countries use an Apostille Stamp, with this stamp the other countries will know that the document is official.) Plus all foreign documents need to be translated to Russian and get a Russian notary stamp. Hope this help.
Dax

Thanx.

This is the process I am doing now. I just wonder that some people went to Russia, meet, propose and get married. Here it seems there was no time for translation and get a apostille stamp.

Now I am at the stage where my translator need to be approved by my goverment. Then the goverment must approve the translation and then the Russian embassy can make the last approval.
According to the rules, the zags should have these papers no later than the 19th of september. However this is not possible now. But for a small fee (1000 Rubel or 30 USD), they will ignore this time limited.
However I send the translation of my transdoment, without 'apostile' stamp so they have some documents to begin the paperwork. I hope they can start the paperwork, and then finish it when they are told the paper from the Russian embassy will come soon - along the with the 'fee'.

My condolensces Jutman
About your situation, paying that small fee is not that bad. But I was surprised that they were charging you a fee if you turn it late. There should be an exception for foreigners. But anyways your situation is kind of unique, have your girl fight to not pay the fee but if it all the same to you pay the fee pay it so the process will go smoothly. Just my 2 cents
