I am learning Russian because I am Russian to my special friend's soft arms, Her name is Cathy Piroshki!

Dear Spriper...

Welcome to the Russian Meeting Place forums...

And thank you for your post...

In your message, did you mean that you are learning Russian because you have a good friend (Cathy) who is Russian?

Khashyar

Posted by: spriper

No, it is because I am RUSSIAN (rushin) to her soft arms!

Posted by: andrei

what a disgusting sorta female....

you can't be that fat....

Posted by: Khashyar

Well, Andrei...

Love is love...

Ideally, when someone loves, what matters most is your love, appreciation and acceptance of a person, and not their physical appearance....

Although, I think for most of us, perhaps almost all people, we also care that the person we are initimately involved with appeals to us physically...

But, I also do not want to fix my standard of what is beautiful based upon the media's conception of what is a beautiful woman....

So, every person finds different kinds of people appealing....

Khashyar

Posted by: Khashyar

One more thing, Andrei...

I can understand that you do not find a woman with her appearance to be appealing to you...

I can understand that...

Let's also keep in mind that many people genetically are predisposed to being overweight, and we can't blame them for that....

Actually... obesity is becoming a national problem in America....

To Khashyar:

Excellent reply, sir!

Like my late father said to me "If you can not say anything nice, do not say it at all!", but I will change his advice slightly for the internet: "If you can not type anything nice, do not type it at all!"

Please advise ALL people who post replies to conduct themselves with respect for ALL people on this board!

If you can, would you block rude comments from Andrei who posted rude comments about my special friend, on this board and ban him from using this board?

Thank you,
Tomp!

Hi Tom, Andrei and All.....

I am sure that Andrei probably understands now that what he wrote was a bit insensitive....

He probably did not realize that it would hurt anyone's feelings or offend anyone...

I am sure that everyone wants to maintain this forum's free and also mutually respectful atmosphere.....

Of course, we welcome everyone's participation in the forum.... and encourage everyone to be respectful to one another so that we can all receive the benefit of a pleasant place to write, share and exchange our ideas....

Don't worry, Andrei. I'm American, and I don't completely understand the California "Politically Correct" mindset either!

that is okay, as long as I get an apology from Andrei

Posted by: andrei

Of course I apologize, it doesn't cost me a cent... But the matter of fact is that from the beginning I thought this thread was a joke, so I just wrote what I felt... But since Mr. Spriper is so serious about his feelings, well, to each his own...

Posted by: Khashyar

I can understand that Andrei thought that the thread was a joke....

Thanks for being cool about it, Andrei...

Khashyar

Posted by: andrei

i'm always cool... cold as ice.......

Posted by: Khashyar

Before I explained things to Lena, she thought that the expression "cool" meant being a cold person....

She didn't realize that in English slang it meant "hip" or a "trendy person"

(Maybe we should open up a thread about common misunderstandings by Russians of the English language...)

I can think of many times word use and slang has caused Natasha and I communication problems.

At times it was and is funny but at other times things became very confusing for both of us. Now Natasha hates it if I use any slang words....We have and use a lot of slang here in the US.

Maybe this could be a new subject on the forum?

Posted by: Khashyar

Thanks for sharing your experience, Dennis...

I actually today opened up a new thread about communication misunderstandings in English between Russians and English-speakers...

I thought this thread was a joke as well......but then I saw that SPRIPER listed "short wave radio" for interests in his profile. Suddenly it all made sense.

i couldn't resist

Someone had to break the tension! I'm glad it was Italianetz and not me! I was tempted to write:

"Is that a Short Wave antenna or are you just happy to see us?"

OK, I'm crawling back into my little hole now...

Bob K.

P.S. What's on shortwave now-a-days? I haven't played with listening to SW Radio in a while...

Where are you from, what city?

Posted by: ConnerVT

Ahhh, but in short wave radio, the bigger the antenna, the better.

(Be careful wher you tread here, I'm a Extra Class Amatuer Radio license holder... )

Posted by: Italianetz

It's not how big the antenna is, it's how you use it. However Italian made antennas are quite large in general. Nothing like the reception of a Roman Rod..........ok ducking again........
