Sent Letter to "Dad" Today

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Well I sent the letter to her dad today. I chatted with her mom last week and it went well. Her first question to me was "Why are you coming here when everyone else is going to Russia?" She liked my response... Because Sveta's in Russia and wants to stay there...

Igor however has not been so open. So I crafted a letter and sent it. Basically telling him to get prepared for the conversation to come and some other things...

He should get it middle of next week. Wish me luck he's seems like he's gonna be a tough nut to crack.

Yes Jeffs I must admit I am lost also with this.....what lead up to this??

Sorry guys, I should have left more info...

Basically Igor doesn't come across as being super happy with the fact that Sveta is spending so much time on the computer and phone with some foriegn guy, and really did appreciate her trip to Kiev in January, He's just been asking alot of questions, all very valid. I sent him a quick note via email to him in the beginning before things were so serious when he said "he know nothing about me". But that isn' doing it for him anymore, and I won't be there for a while to meet face to face. So after talking with Sveta I worte a letter and mailed it (global express so it won't take 60 days) to sort of further outline what's going on.

He's pretty successful over there and I just get the vibe from Svetik that he's not super happy about the situation, so I am trying to give him some respect and transparency towards the situation...

Mom has warmed over well

I just hope he doesn't turn out to be the kind of dad from the movie 'Meet the Parents'. If he is, then your in for a long one, lol

I'm sure though it would be worth it either way.

Well Igor got the letter. I didn't hear alot about particulars. Really typically what you'd expect from a dad... I don't want you to grow up, not ready for you to move out, etc... I did get a thank you and expect a letter from him soon. Fairly positive all in all.

Well done.I get married in Prague to liudmila and she just told me her mum ,dad and sisters will be coming. Here dad runs security for clubs and wants to take me drinking nite before wedding.Should be interesting,as we dont share the same language but i think every dad has a protective edge for their daughter.Good luck for the future
