Gift question

I am going to see the GF in a few months and was starting to get some gifts together I would like to give to her and her mother when we meet and I have a few questions

The first question is do they have turquoise jewelry in Russia? And would this be a appropriate gift?

I was thinking of giving a set of torques earrings to the GF as she likes earrings and blue is her favorite color….everything she owns is blue except for the cat and thus they would go well with many of the outfits I have seen her in.

The Second questions is should the gifts be wrapped and if I do wrap them will I have any problems at customs with this. I have friends from south America and they have a similar custom of gift giving and they have told me it depends if the gifts should be wrapped or not….But they can not tell me what the deciding factor is.

To my knowledge, most turquoise stones are in shades of green.
I sure someone here can help you with the questions.

customs will unwrap the gifts..... just take them unwrapped with you in your carry-on luggage....never in your checked luggage.....you may never see them again if you do

Yes, they have torquoise jewelry--I think this would an appropriate gift. Ditto on not taking wrapped gifts through customs. Maybe just neatly fold up some nice wrapping paper and take it with you (and wrap back at the hotel)?

All the presents I took, were wrapped up, never had a problem, but then again I never mentioned them.

Hey, on the question on of gifts, I understand flowers are a must, eh. I am flying to Odessa to meet my girlfriend for the first time. She is from Kherson but she will meet me at the airport and then we will travel together by train to Yalta. How do I get flowers? I am thinking of getting her some perfume (French), but I don't know if I will be able to carry flowers from Heathrow all the way to Odessa? (Or am I not making any sense?)

I brought a gift over and customs made unwrap it.

Flowers
They sell in US roses dipped in Gold or lacquered.
Really nice and it will last forever - just like your relationship!
