Mans Day in Russia

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I always knew about Womens day, March 8th, but I did no know there was really a Mans day until recently. My Fiance told me that Feb 23 is officially Mans day. In Tambov, Russia they are on holiday from work for Mar 23 and 24 to celebrate this event. I did not see this in other threads in the forum. Is this a new holiday?

Another reason to celebrate!!

February 23 is an annual Russian holiday. The celebration is variously called, "Russian Army Day," "Defenders of the Fatherland Day," or more popularly, "Men's Day."

February 23, 2006, marks the 88th anniversary of its founding.

Off to the shops now, for another bottle!

No Father's day in Canada!!!

Shame on you!!! Adopt either the Russian day, 23rd February.
or ours on June 18th.

ahem, on a slightly less serious note, apparently if you put March 20th into google, you find a new 'Man's Day', of sorts.....

International Red Nose Day

Everybody can celebrate worldwide.

Any excuse for a party is a good excuse.
