Hello Everyone,

Since I had received some sincere private messages asking my advice and feedback about gay and lesbian relationships between Russians and Westerners, I thought that we could serve even more people who need help, advice, support and feedback if we created a distinct section about gay and lesbian relationships in Russia and the former Soviet Union.

I know that some people may have no interest in this subject, and may even feel uncomfortable discussing gay and lesbian relationships. I respect that, and perfectly understand if they do not want to participate in this section.

Here are the guidelines for posting in the Gay and Lesbian relationship section (thank you for respecting them) :

1) This section is for having meaningful and thoughtful discussions about gay and lesbian Russian-Western relationships, or about being gay or lesbian in Russia and the former Soviet Union, and what we can learn from those discussions.

2) Please do not discuss whether being gay or lesbian is "correct" or not, "good" or "bad," or "natural" or "unnatural." While those topics might be valid ones and of interest to some forum members, this forum section is not the right place to evaluate homosexuality. This forum section has the intent and focus of learning more about Russia, and relationships between Russians and Westerners (in this case, relationships between gay and lesbian Russians and Westerners).

Yes, I am gay, and I know I am not the only one with an interest in this subject. You may be straight, gay, or a parent learning about us. I hope this forum can be of service to all.

For those out there who are in need for information but are restrained from speaking, this may very well be a good way for you to come out online, and find others here just like you, and / or find answers.

The people of Russia are amazing beyond discripton. The more I learn about Russia and the people the more I want to learn.

In many ways Russia is moving very rapidly to acceptance and I predict the Duma will soon endorse into law same sex unions following the example of the EU.

I have found online evidence of international relationships already happening from the Ukraine. There is every good reason to follow the knowledge and information on this site, and there is a treasure here to be learned.

I hope those who have a personal interest in the thread given here, will freely be yourself and feel free to privately email me if you wish.

This website is very special and the people here are most intellegent and have so much to share and to learn from.

To rub their noses in our differences will be a huge mistake.
No society changing agendas are needed here. We have nothing to gain and everthing to lose if we alienate them.

When I post in the straight forums, I do not act odvious. I don't hide, but I don't rub their nose in it either. Enough said on that. You know why that is important. Treat these folks like family and they will return the same respect.

I gave my story about me and my Russian other in the introduction of new members forum if interested.

I was very lucky to make a great new friend in Russia, who is intellegent beyond discription, speaks great English and is a ray of sunshine in my life.
This young man has changed my opinion of Russia forever!
