I've used heaps of different online translators as a self-study aid and this is the best one I've come across, and is the latest addition to the PROMT series.
It also has the best Russian-English dictionary Ive been able to find, available through the menu in the top right corner of the page ("Online Services").
Of course, it's all free too!
scotch.
PS. Sorry if I am incorrect to post this here, but the review section only has a section for 'electronic translators' . and this is more of an online translator..

I was worried (hoping! ) Khashyar might put me up before this firing squad.
It's great for looking at words in context, in sentences, especially when you're given a choice of 20 Russian words for your one English one!
p.s I had to register for prompt translator, so I dont know if the link will work for anyone else.
Hope this helpful

And
I found that, when I'm talking on the phone to my loved one, the multitran is so comprehensive and fast that, I can look up difficult words instantly, while I'm talking.
Of course, not speaking Russian means my pronounciation of words is pretty awful! (I never know when o's are pronounced a and when they are o's and thats just for starters)
