How to do an international sms to St Petersburg mobile/cellphone?

I've recenty found out that the sms messages I have been sending to a lady I am most interested in have not been arriving.

Note that she has been able to send an sms to my own mobile and what I thought was her number appeared in the "sender" details of the sms.

i tried sticking a 0011 in front of the number and replying to it but it appears not to have worked.

Can anyone explain the mechanics of how the cellphone system works in Russia/St Petersburg as far as sms is concerned?

My lady's phone number is in the form of +7 904 xx xxxxx
I've seen another variation of this which includes an 8 after the 7 or
+7 8 904 xx xxx.

I'd be most appreciative if someone could explain how to make this work!

Please see 3 post down at hthe list, under this forum. Same problem = same answer.

The explanation to 8, is that there is a special domestic code.

It may be the same answer, but it's not the same problem. It's the reverse of the other one.
I get her sms messages fine, but she's not getting mine.(AFAIK)

I misundertood problem. A wild shot, could be pending time for sms. I know me cell, has a time limited on it. And my wife sometimes got my sms hours later. So if you have cell on instantly, it could be lost in the system.

She's going to look at changing carrier to see if that improves things.
