The Discovery Times channel did a show on Russian Superhomes tonight, and by association the noveau riche that are buying them. I was only able to catch some of it. Hopefully they'll repeat it.
One interesting comment by a women shopping for a suburban Moscow home with her family. " I know this sounds like an extravagant American, but I need space for my clothes. A room for each season." Admittedly she is a fashion designer, mainly furs. Not sure what the husband did, probably in business.
Ok different family, on of their dachas has more gold leaf than the Hermitage, and stained glass window portraits of him and his wife. Three swimming pools. This is too much, he has copies of classical paintings with his family substituted for the various people. Money doesn't buy taste.

PS It was a BBC production. So might be viewable on the other side of the pond.

I saw that too; very interesting to see the extreme of wealth in Moscow. There was one lady who, after looking at a 5 million dollar flat, said that it was too expensive, because after they bought it she would have to gut the whole thing and redo the kitchen, all the bathrooms, the lights, the windows, the floors, etc...
