When I traveled to Russia, I met many good Russian men. You know what? They were all married to happy wives. I think there is a 'sub' culture in Russia made up of Russian men who are proclaimed 'bachelors for life' because the single Russian men I met tended to drink alot, did not treat women with respect, and would not have made good husbands.

Of course I do not know any of this for sure because I only have a very narrow window of knowledge

but it would explain some things. It would explain why you found a good Russian man, because they most certainly do exist, and why so many men are finding good Russian women.

Thanks inlove for posting this article. I bought her book "Wedded Strangers: The Challenges of Russian-AmericanMarriages" for me to read when I ordered some English tapes and books for Nata last summer. I found it to be very interesting, informative, and enjoyable.

After Nata arrives in the US in March and has met my family I intend to pass it around for them to read so they will have a better understanding about the differences in our cultures.
