Response Time?

Just wondering......what would be a normal response time for a reply once you wrote one of the ladies? I realize that most women over there don't own computers, so it usually isn't immediate, as they have to go elsewhere to send/receive e-mails.

What are your experiences with this?

I'm writing to my 'girlfriend' through a Dating Agency in The Ukraine. Our letters have to be translated but on average I will hear from her twice a week.
Everyone is different and i guess it depends if she is just writing to you and how 'keen' she is.

Initial response tends to be a 3-5 days, some of them have alot of crap to weed out and some don't have much access. Some ladies take up to two weeks it seems.

It's been about three weeks since I've e-mailed the two girls, and no response, yet. Since I do have their mailing address, I will send them a letter via regular mail, as a follow-up, and see what happens.....

I'd think about contacting some other women. The ones you've contacted don't seem keen or interested. Could you really start a relationship with someone who could only be bothered writing to you once a month?

You've got a vaild point there, Hostile........but since I am new to this deal, I thought I'd ask, anyway. Again, I've never done online personals with women here in the states, and this being foreign, that adds another angle to it besides the basic mechanics of it.

Worst case scenerio is that they may be not interested, but I am also considering the fact that they both work, have kids, and who knows, maybe a whole stack of correspondence from 100 other guys, on top of all that!

Of course, I am going through a bunch of lists, and see what are the best prospects, and take it from there......

For myself it takes around a week and can be up to 10 days for a reply. That's about as long as I'd like it too. I was writing to a girl that claimed she could only get into the agency on a Monday, this meant that if I got a letter to her on a Tuesday, she wouldn't even pick it up for a week and then another week before she got her reply in. The agency had words with her saying this was not acceptable and as she wasn't able/wouldn't make it more often they removed her from their listing.

guys try to get your ladies to use inter/cafe.
there english will improve fast with your help & responce time will be a lot faster if there realy interested & it will be cheaper if you can cut out the agency.
my missus realy struggled at first but the personal touch moved us along quicker.

My advice would be to chose ladies who are members of Dating Agencies. They will get help with tanslation, phone calls etc. All they have to do is to collect your which will be translated, and she will go home and write a reply in Russian. She then brings the letter to the Agency where it is translated into English and then forwarded on to you.
This is the situation I'm in with my 'girlfriend' and things are working out fine. I usually receive two emails a week.
Don't worry about 'knock backs'. Write quite a few introduction letters and wait for the responces. Eventually you will find there is one woman who really takes your fancy, and away you go.

That only works if their English is good enough to communicate without help.

it seems "real" women are (much) slower...say 1 letter a week is typical (when translation is needed ); twice a week or more is less common. There seems to be consensus those who write more often (eg daily or more than once daily ) are often scammers, for whom that is a job.
Real women have a pretty busy life and in many cases a local boyfriend.

You have to take into consideration a lady who genuinely likes you and wants to have contact with you on a regular basis. They will look forward to your letters and want to reply as soon as they can.
Receiving emails everyday from someone using an Internet Cafe would lead you to be suspicious.

yet i have found real women tend to be much slower.
then you get oddballs like those who have free internet at work or at school.
I'd be suspicious of people who spend much time online (especially there): there are not only scammers but even professional daters and novelty seekers.

Ham! My wife was with and agency and many times we exchanged letters daily!I visited my wife's agency and many times the girls would be replying to letters on the spot!

such was my experience.
as well, an honest dating agency owner i knew told me his clients would swap letters at most twice a week.

steve don,t you beleive it, if your both serious you,d be supprised how well it works & your girl will learn fast from you
plus side is you know exactly what is being said,translaters often don,t convey whole story.
my wife couldn,t afford translaters or agency fees but still tried her heart out.
if the girl is keen she will do it.

she would willingly go out even on freezing nights to do this & we were often able to have a short e mail chat if i knew what time she would be at the inter/cafe.

well, i have no idea & can't comment on individual cases.
However i was talking about the typical agency scene, where translation, pickup & delivery are needed. If someone can go to an internet point, then they can go & stay as long as they have money & a reason to do so.

Well your right I would be surprised, since my lady doesn't speak English it would be a minor miracle if we somehow managed to communicate via email without any translation help.

been there & done it, my wife had no english but she did have a wish to further our relatsionship & translated for herself with a dictionary.
these days she laughs about how long it used to take to first read my letters & then write back to me
the point is she was interested enough to learn
i will admit she had a little help at first from a girlfriend but as soon as she got the gist of it she did it all herself.
concider the fact that most rw,s have a far superia education than you do, don,t scoff vast majority go on to uni & study a bloody site more than westerners, it isn,t uncommon for a russian girl to have 2 decrees
