Telephone directories for Russia

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I was surprised to learn that the Library of Congress (LOC) has telephone books for residential and business phone numbers in Russia.

They have provided this link:

http://www.spravka.net/phones/

saying its provides the widest number of directories available on-line.

I have been trying to locate phone numbers for Tver. One LOC list says it has a Tver phone book for numbers in use in 2002, but I can't call it up.

At spravka... some directories list only businesses.

This can at least be a starting point for those who are trying to locate phone numbers independently. Alta Vista Babel Fish translates some of the various pages, but has difficulty translating others.

If anyone has a link to other free on-line telephone directories for Russia, including residential phone numbers, please post a link in this thread. I would appreciate it!!!

Brad: Are you a tele-marketer?
Hello is this Igor?
Are you happy with your long-distance service?

FYI -- Some telephone numbers in Tver have been shuffled around in the past two years. The number in my wife's apartment has changed twice in that time.

Nah Easy Target... telemarketing is NOT MY THING! But I've been known to be a practical joker... POSING AS A TELE-MARKETER for a quick laugh!

Conner... thanks for that post. I did run across a dicussion about this in an unrelated forum (unrelated to the RMP, that is). I understood that the new numbers were also issued to current residential customers... I guess creating a major inconvenience.
