Week 3
I will say this is the shopping and learning week. The days went by like this:
We started the days slowly. Then we went shopping, primarily for me. Like to get new clothes and especially new glasses for me. It was roughly about 1/10 of the price in Denmark.
In the end of the week I finally had my first visit to a internet-cafe. I checked my mail and found a unhappy notice. My call-back service was terminated due to lacking payment. I had the idea it was perhaps because I got new credit-card before my departure and forgot to tell the company. Then we went to see the Danish Embassy homepage. Here we found something interesting. It said that the Embassy only send mail out, if there is a rejection. So home and pick the phone and dial my mom, to hear if I got mail from the Danish immigration office. The message was, no letter for you. My lady of course asked her parents, which she use for her postal address. The answer was no letter for her. This gave some optimism for me.
Beside this, the week I called the learning week. We used the time to relax and ask each other questions. If you enter the fiancé/marriage forum you will see that I did not knew anything about 4 year of her life. So we used the time to tell each other more background information’s. One of the interesting parts was that as a jurist student she had to take practices at a police-station and forced to see police violence. We used the time to tell more about families and friends. One of the days I liked a lot, was when we purchased some pants for me. They were to long, and her cousin would saw them so they fit. So a visit to her work where her cousin also work and the next day, I had dinner with 2 lovely ladies where one has my heart.
I also had my 2nd visit at her parents place like at day 5 in week 3. We had her niece with us back. So the next day we took a tour at the Volga-river. Interesting to see how Russia solved some practical problems like how to get electricity across the river. A bridge who just need the last ¼ to be finished, but the administration has no money for it. Day 6 was Monday and I had my first call to the Embassy. I just got the taped information. Then we went to the city center and into the internet-cafe and wrote to the Embassy. Tuesday the niece went home and we went shopping, tried the Embassy again, but with no luck.
- I almost forgot. This week something important for her happen. She saw me made food for her. It was actually funny. Because the niece was looking at me all the time. My lady told me, she had asked if it was ok to look at me. At the dinner with the 2 ladies I cleaned the table and started to do the dish. My lady was so surprised. She has NEVER seen this before, and I believe her from her expression. When her sister came to pick-up the niece, I also made some food and her sister looked very strangely at me. Same reason, she has never seen a man in the kitchen before. This made my lady like me even more :-)

End of week 3

Hi Brian!

Good job impressing your lady! I'm sure you made many strong impressions with her, her niece and sister!

One question: What is the call-back service you referred to?

Hi

It's United World Telecom

U see the prices in Europe is high, so techical U make a call, so it seems that U are in USA.
The normal phone company take 90c /min. UWT take 20 c/ min.

Thanks Brian!

I think I misunderstood. I though the call-back had something to do with the possible rejection of your petition with the Danish embassy. I understand now! My mistake!

I'm glad that all is going well with the both of you! Good luck!

Bob K.
