Sleeping???

Guys,

Is it just my gf, M, or do all Russian women require a huge amount of sleep?? I get by on 5-8 hours and any more than that and I'm wasted for the rest of the day...

Would love to know what you've experienced.

Bing

PS. I've also learnt to let sleeping M's sleep... most unpleasant scene should I accidentally wake her!! lol

i also noticed that on my three trips to ukraine that the woman i visted also slept more than what i would consider usual. i'm a pretty good sleeper too and end up with an after work nap most days if i don't get at least 7 1/2 hours sleep. but you raise an interesting topic, so i'm interested to hear others' observations.

It's an interesting question. I have met quite a few Russian and Ukranian women who, if given the opportunity, will gladly sleep 12 or more hours a night. Even if they go to bed at a normal hour, they will sleep until 1-2pm. I can't think of any American women that I know who sleep like that.

One girl that I dated in Russia slept so much that I began to think that if we ever did get married, it would be very difficult to co-exist with her. We'd never see each other in the morning, have breakfast together, etc...

Hi,

Seida likes her sleep also, but is starting to adjust to less sleep...with maybe a good lie-in at the weekend.

I think it's partly to do with pace of life....here in the West, we always seem so 'busy'.

But I could be wrong......maybe they're all just lazy

LOL, nice thread, yep Irina likes to sleep too, she would sleep about 10 hours plus a day, me 7 or 8. she said "I agree, women like to sleep more than men".

Do we really bore or wear them out that much guys??? poor poor girls. us waking them up early, our cold feet, farting, snoring and Oh, she just nodded off....

This is really odd. I noticed the same thing. My girl Kat likes to sleep 10 or 12 hours if she can.

Maybe this is normal. Maybe western life cheats us of the ablity to sleep that long?

I agree with Ade that it might depends on the environment. People in the bush talk slower that people in the city, that doesn't mean that they are slow. Likewise the same with personal space, in the bush personal space is much larger than in the city. When we live in rat race we are all trying too hard to get ahead of the rat race, however when we manage to get ahead of the race, we are a rat anyway LOL...

I know that my two Ukrainian female friends don't ever sleep. Text messages and emails come at any given time of the night. So I think Ukranians might get some exclusion here.

Wow,I have often wondered about this. All three girls that I have met from the FSU have all wanted a minimum of 8 hours, and if they didn't get it...

I usually run on about 5-5 1/2 hours, and once and awhile I treat myself to 7 hours, but not often.

I did how ever notice people in the FSU seem very layed back,no hurrying for any thing,at least not like here.

My wife also sleeps a couple hours after I go to work. She like to do it. But when she is home, she gets in bed around 23:00 and up around 07:00 i think, so that is the normal 8 hours.

I think she is just adjusting to the rythm, and I am convinced, that when she starts in school, she will have no problems getting up. And since she needs ate leat 1 hour in the morning, she will then get even less sleep. I am out of the door 30 minutes after the alarm clock - having had a shower, eaten breakfast etc.

Me, I normally go to sleep between 23:30 and 00:30, and gets up a little to 7. Sometimes I am up longer. For me 6-8 hours is normal. When I do lot of excercise/running, I am in the high end - the body needs more recovery. When I feel ill I go to bed at 22:00, and thus sleeps 9 hours. Something I can not normally do.

Hi,

As well as the pace, at times I also think it's to do with simple realities; a lot of these women don't have the disposable income that we do, and the things we take for granted may not be options for them (like 'hey, it's saturday, let's go to the movies' or 'sunday, let's get breakfast out')...and though simple things like a walk in the park are nice, they may be less enticing if you have to do them simply because it's all you can afford.

So sometimes, maybe sleeping is just an attractive option?

Well, I have found that unless necessary the ladies will stay awake longer and wake later. It is just the routine - my first lady would sleep at 1am whether it was at her home or her parents and I was always awake with her father sucking a coffee and smoke early hours.
My fiance likes to also stay awake until around 1, and wake at 10. When we are together she asks why I am so tired! I ask the same at 8, although normally my hours of sleep are 12 - 6.

It is a question I asked myself long time ago but now just accept the differences.

Hey Guys i like reading some of the old posts and seeing the responses. It surprised me that i didnt see what i saw as obvious. I can easily get by on 6 hrs a night. But once i stayed with Nat for a month and didnt drive every where but walked probably 10 klms a day ...sometimes standing on the train for an hour or more instead of sitting on my ar@e watching tv...standing up cooking instead of buying take away via the car window...i soon found myself sleeping a good 8 hrs.

You have a good point Ira.If we were to be as active as they are maybe we would want more sleep.
I would find it difficult to give up the car for walking....LOL

Guys,

Don't think it is just a Russian thing....

I have two friends married to Americans... one says his wife is in bed around 8 PM... the other last to the late hour of 9!!!

My former GF who was from NZ would go to sleep late, but usually slept in an extra 3 hours after I got up...

I agree TP, my last relationship (with a British women) she could sleep the clock round and was always ready for a sleep, I must admit it started to annoy me when she would go to bed in the middle of the day for an hour (as she always said) but it usually ended up 2-3 hours, when I called my RW last night at 10.40pm she had been in bed since 9.30pm.

My daughter who is just 24 is always tired too and likes to lie in bed on Sundays, sure she works long hours, but so do I and I travel/drive a lot each day too which usually adds to the sleep/tired factor.

I think it is a lot of women in general, they just sem to need a lot more sleep than us?

LOL! Our normal routine is I go to sleep 2 hours after my wife and get up 2 hours before my wife! In the begining anything less than 10 hours of sleep was not an option. This has changed now. She will still sleep 10 or 12 hours if she can. If necessary she will go with 8 now. One of our major conflicts in the begining was over sleep. We travel many weekends for our work. She wants to go to sleep at 8 and get up at 6. There was no way I could go to bed at 8! 11-12 for me. Well....thank the lord for earplugs! Solved our problem! Only other option was 2 hotel rooms or an expensive suite!

I believe it is a lifestyle thing. Especially in the winter when their days are so short.

Funny thread.

Working guys compare their sleeping hours with those of their non-working wives and girl-friends.

What's the point in waking up early if you don't have to work, could you please tell me?

Thank God, my job actually starts at 11 am so I wake up at about 9 am but when I had to travel for 2 hours to an office to start a job at 10.00., I had to wake up at 6.00. every day.

And don't forget about age difference, by the way. The older we are the less sleep we need. No wonder, your gfs need more sleep.

So you can chain her to the kitchen sink of course!

My wife does sleep rather a lot, I call her sleepy girl, 9pm until noon is not uncommon! She claims its the air, the time of the month and a whole host of other nonsensical stuff to justify it.

Afternoon naps (which is not sleeping - it is thinking with my eyes closed or more recently meditation she tells me) are not uncommon either.

Yes - they just love to sleep.

My lazy American Ex-Wife could sleep 24 strait if you let her...................lol

If you want a wife/girlfriend who stays up late....

Marry/date a school teacher. Most overworked/underpaid people I have ever known. I stay up late...but I always beat my school teacher wife to bed. And it is hard to sleep while they are grading papers.
