I'm in a hurry to answer your questions, because the "name day" of Elena is 24th of July.
To be honest, I do not celebrate this day, I even do not know why.......Anyway I have a calendar of all, as you call, "names days." It's a good idea to put this information into our website, because men will have the chance to present surprisess for their lovely women.

As I'm a Russian-Belarusian woman, from my prospective, I can tell you that the best present will be FLOWERS. All women in the world love flowers. Another suggestion, if you know her taste, is to send a good perfume to her. But I repeat, you should know her taste very well.

Of course, you can ask her what kind of brand of perfume she usually uses and with her asnwer you can choose the best and her favourite one. This advice is if you are really in a very serious relationship, because sometimes men ask me my advice but they just have communicated 2-5 weeks and I think it's not neccesary to spend $40-$100 on perfume. A good perfume costs at least $40-$100.

Of course you see "Olenka", but it is the same "Lena" on Ukrainian. Frankly speaking I like more full Russian name "Elena" or my Ukrainian name "Olena". "Olenka" is short kind name

I don't celebrate this day also, but I have calls from my friends and they bring me out to some cafe and give me a card. Now in Kiev (and i know other cities) it is popular to give cards with different fun stuff on them: poetry, pics... etc. I keep all of them in my envelope. My heart starts to beat when I put out cards of my Lovely. I know that he touched them and it inspire me during our being far from each other.

About dates of Elena's holiday I am not sure, because the card I have shows 3 or 4 dates for all year. Sorry I forgot where it is and can't help you with it

But I and my friends celebrate it on 2nd June. You will ask why so many dates of this holiday. The matter is that before children had names from name's book of church (sorry I have no idea the correct name of this book). So if child was born on June 2 (for example) and it was a girl parents gave her name Elena, because it was day of Elena by book I said about. You understand that it is hard to creat different names for very day, parents sometimes wanted to call their children like they wanted, but not the book. Such way the same names appeared on different days of the year. I have read that parents pay great money to religious server to put down the name they wanted to give a child to book.

I wish that I had read this thread before I called Lena tonight. I had to send her a belated email wishing her a happy Name Day. How do I find out the dates for the other names. I need her daughter, Mother and Grandmother. I suppose that also goes for her Father ? The names I need are Olesya, Irina, Marina and Igor. Is there a website with the dates?
