Hi, been a long time lurker. Recently actually started my search for a Russian wife. Having talks with a few ladies and one of them has asked me to call and sent her phone number.

I've been looking at prices here from the UK and the cheapest I've found so far for Russia not for Moscow or St Petersburg is around 4p per minute via

Is the quality of line an issue, or can we choose soley on price? Also does anyone know of a cheaper supplier currently?

Finally I know the code for Russia is 7 so in the case of the following made up number

+78442725147

would I just dial 78442725147 or do I need to add another 7 before that or even 07? I'm assuming the former but thought it worth checking while I'm making a post.

Never rung Russia but here are some cheap providers for you, I find Telestunt and Budgetcom seem to be best calling the Ukraine, but you have to give a few a try because one day they may be good the next day terrible depends on time of day also.

I can't help you with the number but I think you will have to put 00 in front of whatever number you are calling. Just like calling anywhere else from the UK really. Just keep trying you will get through sooner or later. Others here wil be able to tell you the exact calling codes though, so just wait around a while someone will help.

You're welcome Steve, but I suggest you read this forum from top to bottom this information is in dozens of places and numerous threads already and it will only take you a year or so to wade through it

I have probably posted this info more times than I care to remember to new guys and lots of others have posted similar things.

Good luck....just keep trying them all for quality and research reasons of course.

Yeah I did try and find the info, even doing a search and I did find some links for cheap phone calls, though not the one you gave. However I thought with the speed of change in prices any old threads may not even be current on this particular issue. I also wanted to know about the dialing code and hadn't seen that anywhere.

I have been starting to check out some of the ultra-cheap phone calls for calling abroad, from the USA

First one I got was Northstar. Works well when calling Russia--no problems with calling Sochi and Omsk(certainly different geographic areas). But did have problems using it for Ukraine.
