Hi all

The average citizen in FSU Countries, do they all have personal mobiles? when I was in Prague earlier this year it was pretty much another european city, so what about Russia itself does everyone carry a mobile? thanks, also can anyone tell me the "average" price of a mobile phone in Russia please, Ulyanovsk region not Moscow (if that makes any difference)

May sound like a strange request but there is method in my madness lol.

thanks in anticipation

Nearly all the women I have come across have mobiles, in fact most have a mobile but not all have a land line. they are expensive in the FSU but somehow they all seem to be able to afford one when they want one. Not only that, but most are the brand new up to date ones, some we don't even have here yet??

If they want something there are always ways of getting it, these people are very ingenious, they may not earn a lot but believe me, they are wealthy in many other ways.

BTW in the Ukraine a lot of them carry two mobiles on different networks as some networks do not cover all areas.

I found most have mobile phones and afford one way or another. Both brother-in-laws and father-in-law with mother-in law with a land line.
This is from a middle class family by Ukrainian standards.

PI qualifications certainly help in following through with this venture and I can tell you there are certainly some out there that belong in the X Files

I don't know John, some I met were reasonably well off by Ukrainian standards, but others were definately not and they had mobiles, and in most cases brand spanking up to date new ones....as I said some had two. I agree they do save for a long time to buy one, but if they put their minds to getting something they seem to have the willpower and tenacity to do it.

Maybe it is more common in the larger cities??? I suppose if you go out in the sticks it may be a lot different?

Hi Chris,

yes there are probably a lot more people that can afford them in Kiev, also being a much larger city you would see more with them,

I offered to buy Natty one in august , but she said no i had to save the money as i would need it for bringing them over here,

John

Natty sounds like a good girl John, having your best interests at heart when it comes to spending.
