Hi
Its has never beena secret that the vikings visit and formed cities in modern Russia and Ukraine.
This has made me read a little more about that and to my surprise some of the russian names derive from viking names.

Vladimir origin from Valdemar*.
Olga is from Helga. I understand that in that time, the H was hardly pronounced.
Oleg is from Helge.

* a famous danish king has this name. Beat the estonian and in generel won battles. His nickname is 'victory'.

Brioki = trousers = English Breeches a borrowing from Scandinavian.

What did men wear before the Vikings. :-)
