I am looking for other guys that have wives/fiancee's that are from or currently living in Yoshkar-Ola. I think it would be helpful to introduce the ladies to each other so they don feel so alone or overwhelmed with the whole process. Or just have someone to chat with before and after they join us here. Let me know!

Hello, Skinman569. I know a girl from Yoshkar-Ola currently living in CA. Her name is Marina, she is 26 years old. Marina lives is Valencia, CA since June (or May?) 2005, married to an American man. Her husband's name is Emmett.
I think Marina will be happy to chat with someone from her native town.

Yoshkar-ola rife with scammers mate, considered by some to be the scamming capital, I sent you a welcome in the UK Irish section of the site, and I stand by what I said, if your a decent guy from the emerald isle that doesn't frequent pubs very much then you will meet a nice FSU girl, just tread carefull mate.

I meant, that maybe you not feel that you are rich, bur for HER, you will. An indicator, she no mobile and with my knewledge of Russia, most people has a regular phone OR they get a mobile, even it a used, they will get one. If not, is it becaue the financial situation is bad.

And if I remeber correctly, this city is a regional capital, wich normally would mean some money and activity.

Posted by: buzzment

hi jutman, yes i take ur point i am prob rich compared to her...about the phone thing i dunno she just said she hasnt got one as they are expensive,i dont know her financial situation, she works anyhow, and by her fotos she looks well presented as any western girl wud so i just dont know why she hasnt a mobile or landline,il probe further in my next mail.ive read a few diff opinions by variuos guys on this site about this matter, some say most people have mobiles, some say a lot dont!i dont know ive never bein to russia and im new to all this etc.at the end of the day im not too worried about her not having a phone, maybe she hasnt, and bottom line is if i get asked for money somewhere down the line its adios!!..buzzz...

Posted by: Jutman

Hi

But after some time where you feel, you are over the worst introduction and feel that she is the one, it can be beneficial to offer her, some pocket money for contact.
From some ´friends´I know sometime the women has use up to 30% of the gross income for communication. The western man, don't knew and still today don't. And I know a lot of russian girls from my wife friends, who cant' wont do that, which I find in order. Try to imagine that yourself, minus 30% of your gross income and to send 20 Irish pund or so a month, it will do the trick.

Hmm Yoskar-ola-Cheboksary-Kazan....
When i was looking trough the russian-scam.org looonngg list quite a few were from that area, including at least 2 that contacted me...
The other thing is the profiles those girlies are using are either ,totally empty,or a full profile that hops from girlie to girlie all using the exact same profile, just different picture, age is between 28-35..All in chboksar/kazan/Ola...

They even use Sovietstreet in cheboksary, sounds Fammilliar?Im sure im not the only one thats gets an adress like that, offcourse no phone, not even after threatning to stop writing, its unbelievable..But the bottom line is you have to make a stand somewhere and just move on..I have another email from another girlie same area, dont even bother no more enough is enough..

But if you can spend the time ,make those girlie(we dont even really know)do we??scammers work for every letter, picture and drag them out in the open if you can and are willing to spend the enormous amount of time it takes each day to write back, let them complain about high internet cost...

Ultimate joke send 1 dollar via western union, and dont release the number..

Posted by: buzzment

but surely they cant be all scammers eh?admittedly she hasnt givin me a number cos she dont have a fone?!she will call me etc..and when i asked for her address so i can send a gift she didnt reply with an answer..but cud this be her being reluctant to give out her address to a stranger?!Altho she does tell me she loves me already which only after 13 odd mails a bit suspect..check irish n uk section for the latest on my situation z..

Posted by: buzzment

soz sheck out yahoo personals in the scamming section too..

Hi all,

I am from Yoshkar-Ola, but currently reside in Michigan. Like you all said, it is notorious for scammers, but there are some legitimate dating agencies there like Virginia. I know it firsthand because I used to work there. Trust me, it is not full of scammers

Posted by: OzGuyLooking

Hi Liliya, has Maksim changed his business name, I used to be a ustomer of his and I even know who you are. I will tell you from experience I honestly dont know of any single agency who can 100% say they have never had scammer on their books. I know of at least 3 from the place you used to work. Each and everyone tried to ply my cash outa me within 5 emails. Now don't get me wrong I am not saying the agency is a scam agency just that there were scammers on the books, and I think in this day and age that is unavoidable for any business like this.

On another note, why are you now in America, did you find someone or did you leave the lovely Yoshkar-Ola on your own ability?

Cheers.

Hi,

I am glad to hear that you still remember me. I might remember you, too, and I might have seen you there, if you came to Yoshkar-Ola. You are right, there are scammers everywhere. I guess, it is becoming inevitable, and I would encourage you all to be very cautious. I am sorry that girls tried to get money out of you. What we were required to do, working as translators there is to delete all the information concerning money in letters that ladies were writing. I hope that those who still work there do their best to prevent it from happening. I do not think Maksim changed his business though. I still keep in touch with my former colleagues, but have not heard anything about it.

Yes, I am in America now, however, I did not find my husband through the agency (we were not supposed to do it). I had my prpfile posted on aol.com a couple of years ago and that is how my husband and I met. We had corresponded for four years ago before I came here since I wanted to finish my degree. Anyway, nice meeting you here

Liliya,

If you are taking our references to money, then are you not changing the meaning of the letter to the man? He should know that the woman is asking, which by the 'definition' is a scammer... so the firm you worked with WAS promoting scammers...

If they consistently asked for money to various men and the agency was honest, they should have removed them and told the guy that she was a scammer...

Just my opinion.... and thanks for joining the group.. it might be good to hear your opinion since you have gone through the whole process!!!

You are right, Texas Proud, those who asked for money eventually had their profiles removed from the website after a few warnings, if they persisted in asking for money. Foreign men are usually warned and notified of that, but it is up to men to decide. Some men become so dazzled though that they do not care - they just want a beautiful girl.

out with it oz you know john & i will be on yah lol

hey john you & randy fizzled out or you 2 keeping secrets too lol

Liliya,

Thanks for the update... it seems that your agency was on the good side.. but I do not know why someone would want to continue to write to someone who was a scammer... yes, we men can go crazy for a beautiful girl... I will say that I wrote to a few ladies that were stunning... but the one that I have been writing exclusively to for awhile is not a georgeous lady.. she is very nice looking, but not many people would turn their head to watch her walk by.. and some of the other that were not the right one would... but, she has the personality that I like and did not fall for me quickly and we have had some arguments on what the other said... so it is real... some of the beautiful girls just said what they thought you wanted to hear and wanted to get married quickly...

Glad to hear you were able to find your spouse...

Hi Liliya, I have never been to Yoshkar-Ola but I know you through your work as a translator. The ladies that tried to get my money were promptly dropped from my mailing list and never written to after the 2nd time they asked. The 1st time I politrly said that I would never give money to someone without having met them first and feeling I could trust them. I must also say that the translators didnt remove all request for money which is the eventual reason I stopped using the service apart from he fact that I become umemployed and even tho I was writing to a lady at the time I didn't think it was fair to keep writing to her if I couldn't follow through because of a lack of finances.

Bob, you always see something but alas, this time there is nothing. The only over seas I have been to is TASMANIA and I dont think Bass Strait really counts anyway.
