When I worked in Cairo, Egypt many years ago all the coaches (buses) were just like this, but they were also on the roof, hanging off the back everywhere. The buses had no glass in the window openings, so people could just hold on to the window frames, it was a mad scramble everytime the bus stopped so people could fall off!!

The rule was if you sat down you paid if you stood up or hung on from anywhere else you rode for free. Needless to say hardly anyone sat down!!
