"Alexander Lukashenko: We Do Not Trade Out Our Sovereignty"

Alexander Lukashenko denied some statements that the Belarusian leadership supposedly intends to ‘trade' the country for certain guarantees from Moscow.

"This will never happen. We will not let anyone take our land. We do not trade out our sovereignty. This is unacceptable and I have repeatedly stated this", the president said.

At the same time he noted that the leadership of Russia did not pose the issue of taking away the Belarusian sovereignty. This issue was not also discussed in the course of the talks between the two leaders during visit to Russia, Alexander Lukashenko added.
