Help trying to sms Novosibirsk 913 code

I need some help I've met the greatest young lady and I want to SMS her she lives in Novosibirsk and her area code is 913. I looked into sms over the internet but can't find anyone doing the 913 area. Verizon says they don't sms to russia? Any advise I've been working at this for 2 days now and can't figure it out. Just found this web site tonite. Thanks Earle

I have never sent a cell phone text message before, so I can't answer your question.

Your cell phone company would be the best ones to ask, but perhaps someone in this forum might have some ideas.

I send sms direct from my mobile in the UK to the Ukraine and also receive sms no problem, I don't see why it would be any different to Russia. However it may be if you are US based, but I found this for you if it is of any use:-

Ask your lady what company she is with for her cell phone provider. If it is one of the big companies, like Beeline, MTS, Megafon, etc... google their name and go to their website. There should be a link there where you can send her SMS for free (it might be in Russian). However, she will not be able to send SMS to you.

Otherwise, go to ipipi.com and sign up for a package of SMS messages. You can send from the website there for 5-10 cents per SMS. She can send back to you on your ipipi account and you can link it to your email to get sent there.

You can not send SMS to Russia from your Verizon cell phone. They do not support messaging to Russia or Ukraine. I believe Cingular does, however.

I signed up for ipipi and tryed to send a message. How long does it usually take for a message to go through. I hasn't subtracted from my account. I guess its because the ipipi server hasn't been able to send it?? Thanks Earle

Good luck with your lady. I haven't been to Novosibirsk but I spent a few weeks in nearby Omsk and had a great time.
