This is the famous "Temple of the Saviour-on-Blood" in St. Petersburg - the church built at the place of assasination of Alexander 2nd on March 1, 1881 ( the most liberal Russian king, by the way, - he was killed just one day before he would give a Constitution to Russian people... After his death, the Constitution project was abandonded, the reaction came into power, and that finally lead to the Revolution 36 years later...)

But enough about that sad stuff...
