Anyone Using Ikobo (to send money)

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi

Is anyone actually using Ikobo, the fees are reasonable (especially compared to WU) and the money is available to the card holder in minutes, via an ATM, they do not need a bank account.

They now give you a monthly transfer limit of $500 (was $200) but I believe you can raise this by providing documentation to their US office.

On the face of it it all seems very easy, they send you or the person you want to receive money a VISA Electron ATM card, but I would like to hear from anyone who is actually using the system.

This is what they say:

Quote:
Giving the gift of the iKard allows your friends and family members the ability to make purchases, withdraw cash, or receive money from anyone, anywhere in the world in less than 30 seconds. Money can be sent to any person with an email address instantly.

Ikobo Money Transfer

Thanks

the interpreter that i was paying to translate some letters for me had an ikobo card and recommended i pay her that way instead of WU. i used the system several times without any problems.

the only problem might be educating the person you are sending the money to about how to use an ikard if they have never used one before.

Hi

I use to.

It works, but is sometime busy. Normally fixed during the day or next day.

I think the best, is that they show up personally to give the card.

Yes that is a good point, no confusion on the card getting to the right person.
