Ginger or Mary Ann?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: ConnerVT

The classic TV trivia question now comes to RMP. It came up in a conversation in at work, and I began to wonder how the answer may be seen in this environment. All data will be scientifically compiled for dissertation at a future date.

Ginger or Mary Ann? My apologies to the RMP women and those not familiar with old American television shows.

Feel free to post your answer (and reason, if you wish) after voting. Some say it is a good insight into a person's thoughts.

The professor

Actually, I always liked Ginger more than Mary Ann (at least the original Ginger), but since I'm a girl I won't vote and throw off your numbers

Posted by: Khashyar

As a kid, I liked Mary Ann. She seemed so wholesome and nice.

She still has a similar appeal, although the sexy side to ginger is also nice.

Ginger always seemed vulnerable and hurt beneath her sexy facade.

I guess if I were to marry one of them, it would still be Mary Ann....

Interesting Question, Fred...

Mary Ann Summers was always accessible, approachable, innocent, pure, etc. I vote for her.

Incidentally, from somewhere on the web:

Quote:
One fateful day, I was watching Gilligan's Island. This was the "Slave Girl" episode. In this episode, Gilligan saves a native girl from drowning, and she becomes his slave. In the episode, shortly after saving her, the professor is introducing Gilligan to the native girl, and says "Gilligan" while motioning towards Gilligan. The native girl seems to want to know his last name, and the Professor says "Gilligan Hohople" (or maybe it's Hohopu, not really sure).

Conner Vt, you didn't mention if this was for a long term relationshp or a one night stand..
That would change the voteing.....

After all, it's a simple question...

Ginger was an airhead.... hot but an airhead.

Mary Ann was very cute and had brains.

Ginger=toss in the hay
Mary Ann=girl you bring home to meet Mom

Posted by: DavidC

Simple.

Ginger's looks with MaryAnn's personality and brain.

Posted by: serg

I always thought Mary Ann was hot Ginger was too made up.

Posted by: Colochef

Call me Professor and I will have them both. Gilligan and Skipper were "together" Mr & Mrs Howell ( pass on that) leaves Professor a tired but happy man!!!

Posted by: DavidC

Colochef,

"a tired but happy man"?

I would say, "a tired and extremely annoyed man".

Dealing with one woman is hard enough. Two women? You asked for it.

Posted by: Colochef

It's still better than being Gilligan!!!

Posted by: BradIL

Well the right-thinking men are choosing properly!

MARY ANN! MARY ANN!

A brunette with a natural beauty. Gotta agree that Ginger was 'too made up'.

Posted by: Pin Boy

bob denver, aka gilligan, had succesful heart by-pass surgery this week...the amazing part is that it was done with some bamboo and a couple of coconuts!

can't take credit for the joke, read it in a newspaper column

pin boy - the non plagarizer (is that spelled correctly???)

Posted by: ConnerVT

Way to go, PB. He keeps going, and going, and going....

(Oh, wait. You said "Plagerizer". My bad... )

...One school of thought would be to poll our greastest minds, which, according to urban myth was done to Einstein himself when asked (appoximately) "If you could have the best single night of love-making with the world's most beautiful woman, but be bound forever to keep it secret, or simply be able to walk down the street holding hands with selfsame woman before all your known friends, with no ability to ever 'close the deal'; which would you choose?" He said that any man would always choose the latter over the former (or at least I am paraphrasing from myth, ignoring the obvious reference to the Belle Dame Sans Merci mythos). So it seems that the obvious answer to this question would be that any man would in reality choose to have Ginger walk him (for all to see) to Mary Ann's door where, barring the "Jackpot" cliche', he would then habitate with Mary Ann.

As per this forum...are we in fact seeing this question posed as a veiled reference to the whole 'e-mail bride (photo) vs. internet soulmate (e-mail discussion)' question?

Myself I liked Mary Ann ,smart, cute, could cook, and usually always had something good to say about other people.

Randy

Yep, Gotta go with Mary Ann, always thought Ginger was an airhead. That type never appealed to me. Besides Ginger couldn't cook & that just wouldn't do.
Thinkin' with my stomach as usual, LOL.

Posted by: Barney_Roubles

Mary Ann was the girl next door type which I like. Ginger was good looking but probably high maintenance.

Posted by: yoshi211

i choice neither, my choice is angie everhart, but n the mean time i'll for mary

Posted by: Northernlight

Conner;
I will have to side with akMike. The poll lacks essential information to make a proper choice. Maybe there could have been a third choice like;

undecided or something to that effect.
Kirk

Posted by: AJROOK

Has to be Mary Anne....there was more to her than meets the eye. Ginger too made up, but Mary Anne...she was a cutie.

LOL! Either or choice. Have you never seen the show Gilligan's Island? "The ship set sail....." Definitely a no-brainer for me. Maryann. I'm not into a woman you can't see....alias artificial!

Posted by: azamuner

Mary Anne for sure.
