Now that I am approved. What is the time line to get through the National Service Center, then how long to get to Moscow, then how long do they send out package #3, then how long to get interview date assuming package #3 is sent out immediately. Any suggestions to speed the process up through NSC? Finally, does anyone have a name, phone number or email of anyone involved in Moscow American Embassy. I've waited 244 days now but it is important for me to get Natalia over here ASAP because of my work. I work 7 days a week Aug-April and was hoping to get her here during the months when I will have time to get her settled in.
thank you
Rick and Natalia

As I keep telling my wife.. There is no way to rush the USCIS. I have waited so far 1 year for a simple change of status. This was supposed to be something that took 6-9 months. I check the mail box everyday praying that it will be there. It was really hard during the months of January and February when the website said that they passed our application date (which meant they should be working on our case soon). But then to be fooled in March when everything popped back to Oct 2003. So no matter how fast or how slow you just need to be patient and understand that the USCIS will work at it's own speed and that you need to work around them.

Patience is a must. During the entire visa process, as well as in your relationship in general. You will get no better advice than this.
I am not sure what the time line is through NVC, but once it leaves there, it will be received in Moscow about 7-10 days. Moscow will assign it a new MOS number, and an appointment will be scheduled for about 6-8 weeks out from there. You can search for your USCIS number HERE to find the MOS number.
This is where the time line can get stopped. For some (still unexplained) reason, my wife's application fell off the table, and we needed to wait for an additional 5 1/2 months before she was finally given an interview date. A test of patience.
Don't bother trying to call the embassy, no one there will help you. There is a paid fee number you can call, and all they will tell you is what is posted on the link I just gave you. They don't work for the embassy, they are just contractors who don't know what's going on.
My wife has been here now for over a year, and trust me, I'm still trying to get everyone "settled in".

Hi Rick
Congratulations for finally being released from Nebraska!!! Time really stands still there and the wait is just about enough to drive one crazy.
From what I have gathered it takes anywhere between 3 to 4 weeks for the approved petition to travel to and be processed by NVC. A little research on others current timelines shows NVC is a little slow right now at 4 to 5 weeks. Then another week or so for the petition to travel via DHL to Moscow. Once there they will mail out packet 3 to your fiancée and have an interview date scheduled 60 long days from the date of mailing.
Now if you call the NVC every day at 603-334-0700 and request your MOS# (They will provide it when it is available.) you can shave a couple of days off there waiting for them to snail mail it to you. This MOS# can be used to schedule an interview date with the Moscow Consulate. They will not schedule an interview date until they have received your petition from the NVC. Then they take 16 working days to do a name check on your fiancée before mailing out her packet 3. It looks like this is taking 4-6 weeks to get done if left to the bureaucrats. Then you must rely on the Russian mail system to get this packet to your fiancée.
You or your fiancée can call the consulate to schedule the interview. Now it is possible to have your fiancée pick up packet 3 and schedule the interview date in person in Moscow between 2 and 4 in the afternoon on any weekday. While in Moscow she can get her medical done also. If she has everything completed at this time as required on the packet 3 list then rumor has it that it is possible to obtain the interview within 30 days.
I have not gotten my hopes up too much over this but we sure are going to try it when Nebraska finally releases us. One thing is for sure. If you allow the wheels of bureaucracy to spin on their own they will waste every minute possible and find a way to still screw it up.
Here is the number for the Moscow Consulate from USA. It costs $1.75 a minute to call and you need a credit card number to pay.
