Pope John Paul II

No matter what view people may hold regarding organized religion, Pope John Paul II has always impressed me as a truly "holy" man never wavering in his convictions. Personally, this is a very sad hour marking the end of a life that pervaded much of the world in ways that history will judge kindly. May the perpetual light shine upon him.

Glad you opened the thread Pin Boy. I agree with everything you've posted above.

The images of Pope John Paul II that will stay with me the longest are from the late 1980's into the early 1990's.

As the Iron Curtain fell he was always there spreading encouragement, calls for compassion, and assuring all of the hope that freedom was not a dead idea.

When he celebrated Mass in Poland it produced TV images that are unforgettable! This to a Protestant.

I can only echo what has already been said.

Truly a Great Man and ambassador.
He has set such a high standard for his successor.

May he rest in peace,

Amen.

I pray that this man of mercy and goodness feels no pain in his illness and I ask that Jesus will stand by him and comfort him. I ask that all his prayers, and hopes for all of us will be answered and that we may look at his efforts and follow them and work to achieve them for him and for ourselves. I ask that God may help him to recover and that if he is taken that he will be with God in heaven and have peace and happiness and great joy for the work he has tried to do for all of us. I pray that goodness and mercy will follow him all the days of his life and that he will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. I ask God to help us all of us look upon his life and his efforts and look at ourselves in hopes that we all may find the heart and vission he has for the world and that we may together find each other and come together for peace in this World and for the happiness and benefit of all mankind. Forgive us for complaining about everything, forgive us for killing each other so often in war and bless us and give us the compassion, kindness and love that this man has always had for all of us.
I pray these things in the name of jesus Christ, the father, Son and Holy Sprit, Amen.
