Ok so I have been talking with this girl from Russia for about a month, and everything is cool. Then one day just as a test to see how she would react I tell hear that I had a dream about her. Then the next day the tone of her emails instantly change to the I love you, can't live without you stuff that immediatly throws the red flag of scammer at me. Now she wants to get a travelers visa and come visit me ASAP. But she hasn't directly asked for money, and dosn't want me to waste money to go visit her first. So I told her the fact that from what I know it isn't all that easy for a Russian woman to get a travelers visa to the US. Now she says that she will pay for the VISA and not to worry. She also wants me to give her my phone number so she can call me. Another thing that keeps me wondering is that if she is a scammer then why did she remove her profile from the website I met her on? She never told me that she was doing this. I just noticed it was gone when I went to check and see if she was currently logging on perhaps to scam other people.

So should I give her the number and see what happens? Or should I drop her and go looking elswhere?

Well you kinda threw the first punch....

what I mean is that maybe she is not a scammer but if you lead her on it is difficult to say... she may just be a foolish/gulliable girl that is looking for love.

Now she hears from a "nice" man and is caught up in the moment, so to speak.

I would continue to correspond with her, if you find her interesting, but I would proceed with caution. Tell her you do not intend to send money to her and that it is nearly impossible for her to get a tourist visa.

If I were you, I would also make it clear that I (you) would be willing to come to meet her and that would probably be necessary.

Just as there are men who do not know about all that is involved in this process, there are women who do not know either. I would not be so quick to judge her and good understanding is essential.

Many women have been misled by agencies there. They have been told that they can get a visa, they pay a lot of money and nothing happens. Sometimes they do not have any recourse, they just lost their (or your) money.

If she really wants to meet you, there are some neutral countries where you could meet. You would probably have to pay but you could always pay by credit card, etc and not send cash to her.

I will ask a few questions of you...

Do you like her at all? Have you ever said you 'liked' or 'cared' about her?

Do you want to go meet with her?

It seems that she attaches a lot to the fact that you said you had a dream about her... did you really or is it something you just said to her?

So far, it does not look like a scam to me, but I do not have that much experience in writing to Russians. But, I would look hard at myself and see what vibes I am sending to her to have her change her writing.

Give her the number and see what happens.

But then...

Tell her that going to Russia to meet her would not be a waste of money of all! You would love to see her country, to meet her in person, etc. And tell her if things work out, then next time it will be her turn to visit you--but you really want to go to Russia this time

This is probably the only way you'll find out if she's trying to scam you for visa/plane tix money.

Sounds like a scam to me,hey Nate remember me and that scammer Marina, she is now front page news on the anti scam web site! Be careful,I still get e-mails from scammers too! If they are asking for money, that's a red flag,Marina was the same way,a money hungry criminal! Why wouldn't she want you to visit her? Makes no sense to me. Good luck!
