She is passing her HIV to other men. I was very lucky to test negative even though we had sex. I learned that two of the American men Larisa slept with have tested positive for HIV. All of them are infected. If you had unprotected sex, what made you suspicious that you might have a HIV infection ?

How did you find out that this lady has HIV positive status and how do you verify that this diagnosis is valid ?

How did you find out this lady was married ?

This sounds harsh but .... if you sleep around and you do not know the person very well it can be like pulling the trigger of a revolver with only one bullet in one chamber- eventually you will be unlucky or in the case of the men who allegedly contracted HIV from this person it becomes a life sentence.

You sound like a man who has been through a very stressful experience.

I also like to add that HIV infection can take time to come about. You may not know you have it now but later down the road you get sick and find out you have it. Unprotected sex with a stranger is just stupid and as you now know dangerous.. One other suggestion is that you for now on protect your self when having sex and should let your future partners know you had unprotected sex with a woman with HIV. It is not fair not to tell them as you may be just like her and spread this to unsuspected women and destroy their life's.

Yes, I have kept e-mails and lots of other stuff for my own records. I also stay in touch with couple of her victims and I know they are trying to get the Russian authorities involved but so far nothing has been done to prevent others from her and her helpers.

I was very lucky. I know I should have known better but I'm just a man who in the past never thought of the risks of having sex with a stranger. I was stupid, most of us are when it comes to women. I have learned a big lesson.

The only reason I want to share my story is to warn other guys lke me to watch out.

I wish someone would have warned me.

Do not count your chickens before they are hatched. In some cases it can take years for the HIV virus to show so in fact you could be infected but at this time it does not show in test. If you did have a test done then you know that the doctor has told you this.

The test for HIV infection relies on the observed facts that the HIV virus takes approx 3 months to show up in the blood stream- this is called seroconversion -( the virus itself is very weak and it takes quite some doing to get infected - blood to blood contamination etc )
The test is taken 3 months after exposure to an alleged source of infection - the HIV virus will not sero convert until 3 months have elapsed.

In the majority of circumstances if its -ve after 3 months this result will not change ( even if someone is paranoid enough to take the test again. )

The advice that -ve can become +ve is so rare that the established procedure is to advise a person to come to a clinic in 3 months time at which time a test which gives valid and 99% accuracy can be provided. This is the same in UK as in the USA as in any country in the world.

The advice that a negative result may in fact be a positive result is A) a recipe for paranoia B) a recipe for someone to have a nervous breakdown or worse and C) Based on poor data and information the sources of which are questionable.

The above information can be veified by speaking to a qualified physician

It takes 3 to 6 months to seroconvert. Definitely repeit the test, if you've done it prior to this time frame.
At the same time it should be known that HIV is not that easy to catch, especialy if the woman is the one infected. It is true that one time of unprotected sex could be one too many, but in majority of cases HIV does not get transmitted in one-time sexual encounters. Which does not mean you should have unprotected sex with strangers..

I hope that everything will turn out fine...

My understanding of HIV is that blood that contains the virus must be transmitted for the virus to be transmitted, and that it is much harder for a man to receive the HIV virus from a woman than the other way around.

That is why they say that it you have the herpes virus, it significantly increases the risk for you to contract HIV because if you have herpes lesions, you have a tear in your skin and if you have unprotected sex, then the HIV virus can easily enter your bloodstream through the open herpes lesion.

(I used to go out with a doctor)...

So, the risk is less for a man (who is having sex with a woman) than for a woman having sex with a man, but there is always the risk of contracting HIV with unprotected sex.

Yes, I would definitely be careful, Pawel...

Even if you feel that you can trust a particular person, that person may have slept with someone else who gave them an sexually transmitted illness...

I honestly would recommend that everyone who wants to sleep with someone use protection until both of you get a test for STD's (sexually transmitted diseases).

I would agree. In general, Russians are not very well educated about this part of life. Westerners, on the other hand, suppose to have enough knowledge to prevent a spead of the STDs, but they still choose to have unprotected sex with strangers. Weird..

Since the anti-body grows, a good lab can tell you approx when you were infected.

He had a blood samle sent to the lab, where they test for the HIV virus instead instead of the antibodies. Took 10 days or so. Not sure if they try to grow it, or how else they test.

But yes, it is dangerous, and as the doc said, there are over 40 VDs. HIV/AIDS is just one of them.

yes, virus can be dected after 10 days from suspected contact.

One more thought:
this person gived very seroius accusations against other persons. I am very sure that it would be ABSOLUTELLY IMPOSSIBLE if women were american. You think you can do all you want with russian because you can't be catched for court of false facts and slander. If this man has proof about what he writes he must report them to russian autorities.

By the way, if this woman is SEND MONEY! (This is all she is after). how come that he have sex with her? It smells too fishy!

I guess it depends. If the allegations were demonstrably false then I would imagine the usual reaction would be to take legal action. If the allegations were substantially true then a rational person would do nothing at all so as to avoid a rumour becoming an established legal fact.
