I am new at this so please be patient with my ignorance. I want to get a phone card to send to Ekaterina in Kazan but am confused by the options. Most prepaid cards say that they are good from Moscow or St Petersburg, but am I going to run into problems elsewhere? I am trying to make this expense free for her so I am wondering if this will involve access charges billed to her?

Katrinn also needs explicit explanation on how the card is used from that end, and I don’t seem to be finding that explanation.

Any input on this will be greatly appreciated, as this forum is!!

Sorry, I do not have ANY answers for you, but I am scouring the site in search of one. Ok, mainly because I have similar questions about purchasing a card for calls from Novosibirsk to US.

I will post here if I find anything that looks useful.

I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but you may want to check this out.

The phone company I use here in British Columbia has a service where you can set it up so that calls from one number (or several numbers) to your own home are billed to your number. Its done like a calling card, in that the caller has to input a series of numbers (20 or so) to use it.

This way it is free for her to call you, and you foot the bill.

Not a bad deal I think.
