Dear Friends,

Olga and I are being featured in a 4-minute spot about "mail order brides" that is scheduled to air in Los Angeles this coming Monday night, May 12 at 11:00 pm on Channel 4 (NBC) news.

Investigative reporter Manual Teodoro,an NBC news producer, and a camera crew were here at our house the other day, interviewing us and shooting tape for FIVE HOURS.

I am going to record it on my ancient VHS machine. If it turns out to be worthwhile I will make copies and send them to any group members who request them. (You will probably have to work with me on covering duplication and mailing costs.)

If anybody out there living in L.A. has the capability to record it digitally (T-Bo, for example), I would greatly appreciate your help in obtaining a digital version, and maybe reproducing it somehow for interested Group members.

Hi Jim...

I actually can't record a TV program digitally (I don't have the equipement to do this....

But, I think that if someone has cable, that it would result in pretty good quality (for general use) if someone recorded from cable to a good 4 head VCR...

They could make the best quality copies if after they recorded the program on a VCR, if they then recorded it to a DV camera (through the RCA or SVHD input with the DV camera), and then they could make copies from there...

But, just to use for general use and dubbing for friends, etc... I think that dubbing the show on a good 4 head VCR from cable would result in pretty good quality for general non-commerical use....

Thanks for the letting me know about the program... I will try to watch it...

Okay, I know this is going to sound fishy to you guys, but really this guy Doug has a disgusting side to him. I suggest you read his posts on Yahoo's group FSU-WL. He has written some really nasty things to any woman there who doesn't agree with him. I mean sexual innuendo dirty nasty things.

I don't know Doug, or haven't read anything that he's written...

If he has behaved like that, I'm sorry that he made those kinds of comments...

But again, I don't know him and haven't read what he had written...

Thanks for the "heads up" Vyesna.
I joined the FSU-WL for about a week and was not impressed at all, but thats just my personal opinion. I have seen a few posts of his in various places on the net and what I read has always been polite, repectful and insightful, but anyone can conceal a "dark side" if they work at it.

I don't know Doug or Olga (his wife) and actually what caught my attention was that the show was being aired in L.A. (I know a good number of the original group here was/is from the L.A. area) and the subject matter seemed relevant to the group.
