English Language Forum Problem

The English Language forum pages all start with a large image and a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff that adds up to a full screen of heading before any message text or thread text is visible.

Could we possibly have a change to this design that tries to use as little vertical space as possible in order to show as much message/thread text as possible on the first page?

To be honest, I think it could be reduced to the row of thin buttons beginning "user cp" as well as two additional buttons, ("Forum Dlya Russkikh" and "Home") and some sort of logo that is takes up no more vertical space than the two buttons.

Thanks for your suggestion.

You probably have seen that on the English pages (other than the index page), there is less text, and the only extra items is the logo as well as the forum buttons. The index page does have more introductory text below the image logo, but the non-index pages only have the logo and the forum buttons.

Do you think that on the non-index pages, that it is too much of an inconvenience for someone to scroll down past the logo and forum buttons to read the text?

It's possible for us to put a thinner banner logo, instead of the larger one.

I would love to hear what others also think about this.

I don't suppose it is TOO much trouble because I've done it so many times but it is annoying to scroll past this every time.

I'd also like to note that there is another similar russian culture forum that does not have such a large logo photo or heading. The result is a much nicer effect than this one. To see what I mean, click on the "Forum Dlya Russkikh" button above on this page. Hint, hint...
