Not a bachelor any more

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

It is now both official and proved true -- I am not a bachelor anymore.

This week, I'm painting the master bedroom with two coats of Bahr's Musical Mist, aka PINK!

Guess there's no turning back for me...

NNNNNNNNnnnnnnnooooooooooooooo!!!

The bachelor parties, the bra's from the ceiling fans. MUST all good things come to a end??

(big smile for you)

Hey Conner,

Wow, you have been domesticated!! and of all colors, PINK!!!!

I know it should be painful! Sorry to hear that my friend!

p.s. It is amazing how they come up with fancy names for colors!

Congrats!

But PINK????? Yeech...

Posted by: ConnerVT

I should of know better than look to you guys for some sympathy.

At least my son cares how I feel. He tells me it looks more white than pink.

Heh heh...............I can sympathize bud

Earlier this summer Liliya decided we (read "I") needed to paint Niko's room. The color of course was pink

At this point I explained to her about "boy" colors and "girl" colors, and while any color she chose would be fine now, she might want to consider what his little boy friends might say later on After an in-depth explanation (that I won't repeat here - the rainbow smilie should give you a clue) We decided to pick something a little closer to orange . However she came in to make sure the shade was not too close to "pink" about 9 times during the painting process.

So before she gets any ideas about pasha's room........there ya go

Is that a whip I hear cracking?

Just kidding

AH - Conner

So - Learning your Colors!!!

Perywinkle ------ NOT blue
Teal ------ NOT green
Dusky Rose ------ NOT pink
Ecru ------ NOT white

I do sympathize with you... I got beat over the head with this tuff for years!!

One question: Which room is now PINK???

Jeeze - I hope that it's NOT the master bedroom!!!!

Good Luck

Bill

Yes, actually it IS the master bedroom.

(Wow, Jill. I never thought you were like that. )

I feel for you, Jim. The color selection process has been arduous (akin to the SALT treaties? ), but we have been doing it together. Natalya originally wanted yellow for our living/dining room. We (with a strong push from me) then decided it would be better in Pasha's room. It looks very nice, with the sharp white floor moldings.

Oh, Conner, you know I meant that in the best possible way

Hmmmm.... when my husband decided to repaint one of the rooms in our house, he actually chose pink with a white layover sponge technique. It got high compliments, including from other men (young men).

He also did it in our bedroom but I said it might be a little too much pink (this was shortly before we put our house up for sale) for certain American tastes, so he decided to repaint that room plain off white instead.

I guess I could say something about reaction to pink perhaps being related to a man's security in his masculinity....but I won't.

Whatever happened to good, old-fashioned white ?

Been to a paint store recently? There are probably over 100 different shades of "white".

He he, pick one !

and I never forget some comedian's joke about Northwest Leg White, somewhere between eggshell and ecru.

don't forget your union mandated "break" every 90 minutes

Posted by: ConnerVT

The bedroom is almost done (need to paint two pieces of baseboard molding, and nail them in place) and the result is actually pretty good. Musical Mist was not a bad choice of color, and looks very nice in our room. Part of the result was from Natalya's work in cleaning the mess the previous painter had made, and bringing the natural wood moldings around the doors and window back to their original state. She probably spent 5 hours cleaning and sanding those frames.

We set a goal to finish the remaining painting by 20 Dec. Quite an undertaking, considering this still leaves the bathroom, living/dining room, and kitchen to complete. It has to be accomplished between my 12 hour work schedule, a six year old boy, English lessons, and the general demands of life. So not many mandatory 30 minute breaks, as this is definitely not a union shop.

And yes, some of the walls will be white (as well as all of the ceilings).
